Everyone knows the story about big, bad Kanye West. But we'll recap it anyway. The 'Stronger' rapper stormed the stage to interrupt Taylor Swift's win for best female video because he was upset her 'You Belong With Me' beat Beyonce's 'Single Ladies' -- which he called "one of the best videos of all time." In the days following the incident, nearly 2.3 million PopEater readers voted in various polls about Kanye, including what his future holds and if the President was right to call him a "jackass." · The initial reaction to Kanye's antics were overwhelmingly negative. When asked if he was out of line to jump on stage and grab the mike from Taylor, 96 percent over over 620K voters said yes. (Furthermore, 82 percent of over 530K didn't believe Beyonce should have beaten the country singer anyway.) Get the Story and Vote
· And it just kept getting worse for him. Although he wrote a caps-locked apology on his Web site, 96 percent of over 420K voters thought it was too little, too late. Get the Story and Vote
· Of course, many people criticized Kanye publicly. Pink called him "the biggest piece of s---," Spencer Pratt wanted MTV to ban the hitmaker, Kelly Clarkson described him as an "a--hole," and much much more. How long do PopEater readers think the backlash against him will continue? Indefinitely, according to 42 percent of nearly 400K voters. Get the Story and Vote
· He kept on apologizing, though. He wrote another post on his personal site, then said he was sorry on 'The Jay Leno Show.' But 59 percent of over 53K PopEater readers still don't think he's being sincere. And 85 percent of over 47K hope that he lays low for a while. Get the Story and Vote
· But Leno didn't let him off that easy. The talk show host asked what Kanye's deceased mother would have said to him after his VMAs stunt. A stunned Kanye sat in silence for a couple of seconds before answering. However, 79 percent of over 150K voters did not find Jay's question to be out of line. Get the Story and Vote
· Just when it couldn't get any worse for Kanye, the President offered his two cents. Off-the-record, President Obama called the 'Heartless' singer a "jackass." And a majority of people didn't seem to mind -- 97 percent agreed with Obama and 76 percent believe that it's fine he expressed his opinion on the matter. Get the Story and Vote
Kenye will be back to his partying self in no time. His fans love his antics. They love his political statements. Kenye Will recover and will be spitin some rhymes again. Kenye is an indusrty and will adjust to keep in business. Taylor Swift will sell more recordings now too. The youth music industry has always been about rebellion, mistakes, partying, controversy, and the conduct of its players. MTV plays on that too. Kenye is a bad boy and that still is what sells music like it did since the dawn of Rock and Roll. Jus keepin it real.
I think Kanye has learned a valuable lesson hopefully. He could turn his life around for the better. We have all done bad things in our life some time or another. At least he isn't quite as bad as that fella in the Bible that persecuted God's people. So it's time to quit dragging this out and put away our bag of stones and just sit back and see if Kanye has learned that valuable lesson on to act with dignity and respect for his fellow man.
I totally agree with you! This has gone on for far too long...he's apologized 3 different times and I truly think he is sorry and has learned his lesson. So I think we should all forgive him and move on now!
You have an excellent point in your comment. Let's just wait and see. There is a story out that Kanye's camp tried to say that it was all staged. Not a good start in restoring credibility.
Kanye has never learned. This is his modus operandi. He has done this time and time again - just not to a sweet faced teenager. He doesn't learn from his mistakes. He has proven that. No reason I can see to let him off th hook.
I understand what you're saying, but put yourself in Taylor's shoes. However, Taylor is ready for this to end as well, so we SHOULD let it go, but for HER sake, not his.
People use the word "sorry" to freely, he was not sorry and should keep paying the big price, I hope he done with. He is a racist anyways, out spoken about not likeing white people.
I think he'll pretend that he's learned a lesson whether he has or not because he wants the record sales money - just like the kramer character pretended to learn his to salvage his career. I think cutting financial support to him (by not buying his stuff) will ensure that he learns for real and that it's not a show to keep the gravy train rolling.
He pulled this same crap in 2005, 2006, and 2007, he hasn't learned anything. The only way for him to pay is for these awards shows not to let him in the door.
HEY, really when I watched the awards I knew this was a set up to begin with. and the taylor/kanye thing was staged they have the same publicist and she suggested to kanye that he go on stage at some point in the show w/ taylor and draw attention to her and what other way than to do his same ol routine of hopping on stage and telling it like it is? Taylor need some publicist her album sales were suffering and that is why he did that for her. Just look when has MTV ever ran their award show over and over again?NEVER scream fake expecially since they have not edited Kanye out of the show and Beyonce did not know is was staged and ruined Taylor pitty party publicity moment.
Stephanie, you are so off base it's ridiculous. Kanye isn't man enough to make himself look the fool to help a fellow singer. You obviously are not a Taylor fan and that's okay. Just try to be real when you post something.
OMG...How stupid can you get? Taylor Swift's album sales were suffering??? Are you high?!? Additionally, if you're going to offer an idiotic comment, you might to check your spelling. "expecially"???? Come on, Stephanie! An error like this only perpetuates your idiocy!!!
Stephanie, How can you be so ignorant? Kanye is know for doing these types of things. Taylor is extremely popular due to Twitter, FB, Myspace and alot of hard work performing and selling albums, she has crossed the line from country into pop and appeals to all audiences, this isnt easy. Besides, Kanye wasnt making Taylor look good, he was promoting Beyonce, why would a publicist of Kanyes make him look like such as ass that the president agreed to this? WOW, you better get out more.
well if it was staged Kanye got screwed..lol.. Not staged dumbass... it was just someone acting like an idiot... i'm SURE he is sorry... he SHOULD be.. and the question about what his mother would have said.. as i mother i can tell you.. no words.. just a smack on the head..!!!

Stephanie..you're way off on this one. First...Swifts's sales are through the roof. Secondly, they always repeat awards shows..where have YOU been?

You are just as luny as Charlie Sheen!
