It seems everyone's a critic when it comes to Ellen DeGeneres replacing Paula Abdul as judge on 'American Idol.' Even in our poll, 61% said it was unfair to have a judge that's not music based. So on her talk show Tuesday, DeGeneres took the opportunity to confront her critics and defend the controversial decision, US Weekly reported."Apparently, there's a lot of debate going on right now whether I'm qualified or not to be the new judge on American Idol," she said. "I know there is a lot chatter. I'll tell you right now, how I know I'm going to be a great judge...I've spent my whole life being judged. So I know what it's like."

It does not matter that she is gay. It matters that she is just a airhead that is not funny. She started out as a comedian but that does not mean she has to make a joke out of everything. Her being a judge is the biggest joke of all.

Do I like Ellen? Yes. Do I think she is a qualified judge for Idol? Probably not. Am I going to stop watching a show I love because she is on it? Absolutely not! It seems like people forget that there are 3 other "qualified" judges. If you need to hear the remarks and can't form your own opinion then listen to them. To the people responding so harshly to to her, YOU NEED A LIFE!

I don't think Ellen is the right choice for AI. Simple as that. But as least she's not a friggen space case like Paula. BTW I love Ellen, If I ever met her in person, I'd give her a big squeezy hug, maybe even a smooch on the cheek if I thought she'd let me!! lol

The way we feel is not because you are gay, it's because you have NO experience in the music profession, and dancing in front of your audience does not count. SO, stop playing the gay card! While I love Ellen as a talk show host I am not very happy about her being on Idol. Idol has always been with Paula and not having there is just weird. Having Ellen take her place is even WEIRDER! While she says shes always been judged she is NOT musically smart to know what is good and what is not. Afterall she DID have William Hung on her show...........

I am not for anything that legitimizes homosexuality. Ellen is a very public homosexual. Homosexuality is a disorder and we as a society do not need models for disorder. I am unmoved. Ellen should stand judged for publically flaunting her perversion.
