Locklear Returns to 'Melrose Place'

After much speculation, the CW has confirmed the good news: the friendly neighbors of 'Melrose Place' will once again suffer the wrath of Amanda Woodward, the scariest prime time soap villain of the '90s. Heather Locklear, the actress who brought Woodward's delicious scheming to life in the original series, joins a handful of her old castmates in the revamped version of the show. E! Online reports that Locklear will grace our television sets on November 17.

"We're ecstatic to have the chance to bring Amanda Woodward back to 'Melrose Place," exec producers Todd Slavkin and Darren Swimmer said. "Heather's involvement in the show is something we've been working on for some time, as we couldn't imagine creating and producing this show without the iconic character's inclusion."

Locklear. 47, joined the original 'Melrose Place' at the end of the first season. She stayed throughout the series' seven-year run on FOX. She will now be joining original castmates Laura Leighton, Thomas Calabro, Josie Bissett and Daphne Zuniga in the CW's updated version.

Just when I was gonna ditch Melrose for NCIS LA too. I have to watch now that Heather is coming back, thank God for Tivo!

I watched NCIS LA after and if Melrose doesn't pick up I wont be needing tivo on tuesday night. NCIS LA was great!

I am curious as to why the show thinks they need Locklear back on the show. I have nothing against her as an actor or a person, but wouldn't the idea of even bringing back a show, the new Melrose, be more like the new Locklear show. So for all of these new cast members looking to make it big or even to be the "one" in the show would be pointless to even dream of such a role, for Locklear will take over again and shine in the spotlight...Opps, did I do that!!! Let me guess, she will the highest payed as well...hmmm!

Opps, I am sorry, I did not read the complete article, nevermind my last statement, I did not realize that there would be more of the originals in the show. So the new Melrose will be "New" but with some familiar faces and with a younger cast as well that will be new to Melrose.....Well that might just work. I guess Locklear will fit in just fine then.
