she'll be back when she realizes that her alternative is an 8.50 an hour job. her industry is not the only one affected by piracy. she's rich and she loves what she does.. what more can she want. it's like a spoiled brat who complains that everything isn't perfect. guess what, in life people steal and cheat and it's inundated in every profession. be happy to make as much as you do while piracy is in such prevalence.
in fact, its probably just a ploy to get attention from the world that talen will be lost if they dont pay for it... guess what... i could care less either way as alleged "talent" is so manufactured these days.

Who is Lily Allen?
Why don't they put blocks on people downloading for free?

For God sake, you have to accept the fact that music will be free due to the world of internet and computers. There is nothing that you could do to change it. However, she should be content in getting paid for performances. Look at the artist painters...they don't get paid everytime someone looks at their artwork...they get to sell the first production and that's it. Anyone can make copies...but the live performance...now that's work.

For poor eric and others like him who think that music should be free: Have you purchased amplifiers, mixers, guitars, cords, strings, drums sets, etc.? Have you used any talent writing songs? Practiced til your fingers led? Can you stand in front of a crowd, after driving for hours, and setting up the equipment, performing for up to four hours, breaking the set down, packing up the equipment (onto large vehicles, which are costly to purchase and maintain just like music equipment!), etc. etc., etc.,and do it all for free?
Have you spent money recording music in studios? Got ANY idea at the COST of all this?
Still think "music should be free"? Pul-eeze. Spoken like a true...idiot.

Michael Moore should give her a good talking to about what a capitalist pig she is!!! Michael would explain that she shouldn't be singing for money, that she should be doing it for the people.
Come the revolution, there will hopefully be re-education camps for lost souls such as her.

good riddance there are thousands of as or more talented singers than you who will be greatful for their fans an audience.
Like that SouthPark episode a few years back about the rock group 'Moop" striking i order to end music piracy, Like the Detective said: With all the piracy these stars will be sentenced to a life of 'semi-luxury'.
Don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out!

I love Lily, she has such fun music. "Not Fair" is my favorite.
I disagree with people who say that music isn't about money to an extent. That's like you going to work without getting paid. No thank you.

Lily Allen is retiring? Oh no! Who is she and what has she ever done?

Rock on Robert!

robert who?
Ok, to quit because we download her songs (I never have) is ridiculous--I can watch it on MTV for free every day. And why does a person deserve millions of $ for a song someone else wrote anyway? Maybe if we started paying them what they're really worth they'd come down off of their imaginary pedestals. People who really contribute to the betterment of the World get paid so little. Sad, really.

Are we sure she won't pull a Brett Favre and come out of retirement at some point?
