Miley Cyrus Wants a Little R-E-S-P-E-C-T

For one of the most famous girls in the world, making the smallest mistake becomes breaking news. In an interview with the AP, teen queen Miley Cyrus admitted that she's made her fair share of missteps, but wishes the public would have a little more respect for her privacy.

"I think everything I do is exaggerated a lot," 16-year-old Miley said. "I think that no matter what, I think it is all about respect. People forget that when you are in the public eye, people forget you still have to respect people and you still have to (respect) their privacy."

Much of the criticism over Miley's choices is directed at her parents, especially dad Billy Ray Cyrus. Miley would like people to "trust the fact that my parents are raising me just like everyone else is raising their kids," she said. "They are doing it the way they want to. It is not for the media or for any one else to judge how they should or should not raise me."

Miley also opened up about her departure from 'Hannah Montana.' Her upcoming tour is missing the blond alter-ego, and in the film 'The Last Song' Miley plays a rebellious teen who, except for a love of music, has little in common with wholesome Hannah.

"I love doing 'Hannah Montana,' but I want to continue doing things that are a little bit more darker roles," she said. "That is kind of who I am and where I find most of my inspiration in movies like that."

Of the rumors that she may retire the 'Hannah Montana' character altogether, Miley joked, "I thought about retiring when I was like 15. Just kidding. I would have retired like twelve years ago."

At this point there are no plans to retire Hannah. Not as long as Miley's having fun. "My dad always says, 'If you ain't having fun, it ain't working.' And so when I stop having fun, I'll just quit everything altogether," she said. "But, I'm having fun. ... I think I will forever do that, if I have the people that I'm around still around me. They make me happy, and the people that I work with I really love. ... I will be able to tour the rest of my life if I am having fun."

Gee, everyone..okay the three..ahem..people whom have posted so far other then myself are treating her like she's the spawn of Lucifer or something. :P

I'm not a fan of hers. And yes, she's made some dumb mistakes. But she hasn't gutted your favorite puppy or kitten in front of you. She hasn't been NAKED on the Internet as an aside, although yes some of the leaked images have been somewhat risque for someone her age. She hasn't filmed a sex tape or anything of the sort.

Her crime I'd say is mostly that she's been naive about how easy it is for her privacy to be invaded, and to not keep more personal things in a more secure place. Now do I condone a teenager taking photos of themselves in their underwear and then leaving it on their cell phone or camera? No. But again, she hasn't done some capital crime or horrid sin against humanity due to that.

Or to put it another way, to paraphrase from the Bible if I may "Those without sin, cast the first stone". I suspect at least the first three people whom did post have done things just as ditzy, bad and clueless as she has. Probably at least a WEE bit worse.

Why do people care about what she does? Are you going to lose sleep over night because of it? Even if she becomes a crack whore, who cares its her life, not yours. And the fact that what ever she does ranks on the bottom of things that matter in this world.

She's very rich already...She's very beautiful and most likely will be for many, many years....She will continue to make more money then most of us could ever count...I'am sure dad has a good law firm looking out for her needs, body guards providing protection and transportation, and many well secured places to play and live all payed for....good luck....you'll need it.............

It never ceases to amaze me the lack of intellegence in these posts. I think the real problem is you are all jealous, because your kids have no talent and will never have the things she has and will have. Oh and The Sultan, based on your response, i am guessing you like to have sex with young girls. I hope you don't have daughters. Miley is a kid and lives in a fishbowl, funny part is, she is more adult then the idiots on here.

It was an ICE CREAM VENDOR TRUCK for God's sake people! The writer says "stripper pole" and everyone just believes it..these tricks are so common on the internet. Please, spare me!! Respect, you have to give it to get it. True she is young and immature, but she puts herself out there and then doesn't expect any type of backlash. She lucked into a TV Show, which she is at best, slap stick humor. No real acting there. As for her singing career, it's not really my cup of tea but I know alot of people that enjoy her music. Miley, you are way too young to demand respect while you don't give any to others that have been in the industry a long time. Not sure who thought you deserved to be on VH1 Divas, you may act like a Dive, but you are far from it. You haven't paid your dues in the entertainment industry, you got a big break and you are sure shoving it in everyone's face.
