Randy Quaid, Wife Cuffed in Texas

Randy Quaid and his wife Evi were arrested with authority, TMZ is reporting, as the couple had a felony arrest warrant issued for them earlier today. The 'Kingpin' actor and his better half reportedly put up a fight during the Texas arrest, and Evi was reportedly wrestled to the ground while screaming.

The couple allegedly dashed out on a $10,000 hotel bill -- and apparently this wasn't their first time.

According to RadarOnline.com reports, the Quaids were staying at the posh San Ysidro Ranch in June when the credit card they were using was denied. They promised hotel staff that a new card would be coming soon, but several days and thousands of dollars in charges later, they made like a tree.

They have been charged with three felony counts each: Defrauding an innkeeper, conspiracy and Burglary.

The famous couple have a history of eluding hotel bills, a source close to the investigation told Radar. The Quaids are also in the hole for $17,000 in unpaid bills to the Hotel Bel-Air and -- shockingly -- are said to be keeping an un-returned rental car in their Texas home.

Bail will be set at $20,000.

Is Randy Quaid acting like he's in the decadent '80s again, when he was at his peak as an actor? Refusing to pay for him and his wife's $10,000 hotel bill is beyond bizarre! Doesn't he have cash on his hand or in his wallet to pay it off? He needs to stop thinking that he has all this entitlement and privilege to not pay anything and get everything for free. Randy made bad judgment and it's BACKFIRED in his face!

From the face of it, it appears to be a civil matter, action on a debt, rather than a criminal case. The hotel surely checked the credit card BEFORE they extended large amounts of credit. I think that companies or individuals who use the criminal law to enforce civil claims are guilty of crimes and so are the police who cooperate. The hotel people and the cops involved should all go to jail.

You obviously don't know the law, it would be the exact same as ordering your meal and not having the money to pay for it after you are done eating. That is also a part of the statute that they were charged under. The article stated that the card was denied but they promised that a new card would be coming. It never did, therefore they tried to sneak out with out paying for the services rendered. Just like eating and walking out of the restaurant, that is not civil; it's criminal.

It's no wonder that "cousin Eddie" couldn't pay his hotel bill...what with being out of work, a metal plate in his head, buying dogfood for "snots" and another little mouth to feed on the way... Maybe he shouldn't have given Clark his white patent leather shoes...hmmm could get a couple of bucks for them at a garage sale???
