Randy Quaid, Wife Cuffed in Texas

Randy Quaid and his wife Evi were arrested with authority, TMZ is reporting, as the couple had a felony arrest warrant issued for them earlier today. The 'Kingpin' actor and his better half reportedly put up a fight during the Texas arrest, and Evi was reportedly wrestled to the ground while screaming.

The couple allegedly dashed out on a $10,000 hotel bill -- and apparently this wasn't their first time.

According to RadarOnline.com reports, the Quaids were staying at the posh San Ysidro Ranch in June when the credit card they were using was denied. They promised hotel staff that a new card would be coming soon, but several days and thousands of dollars in charges later, they made like a tree.

They have been charged with three felony counts each: Defrauding an innkeeper, conspiracy and Burglary.

The famous couple have a history of eluding hotel bills, a source close to the investigation told Radar. The Quaids are also in the hole for $17,000 in unpaid bills to the Hotel Bel-Air and -- shockingly -- are said to be keeping an un-returned rental car in their Texas home.

Bail will be set at $20,000.

I'll bet Dennis is pissed! His brother or cousin, whatever goes out & does something humiliating instead of coming for an extended family visit?! The news yesterday said they were wired the money, most probably from Dennis.
If Randy & his wife just visited Dennis, instead of Defrauding Hotels they could have saved that tidy sum.
I think that it is impossible for Randy the be having financial problems unless he, like many other celebs has been ripped off by their Business & Financial Advisors.
On the News last night they were discussing Psychological Problems that would lead to this bizzar behavior of feeling like the Hotels should be paying them to stay there because they are celebs.
I think they might have been ripped off by their trusted financial people, they were used & abused for their celebrity status, & maybe have been told that there is nothing they can do about it. Now they may be under the impression that that door can swing both ways, so they are trying to use their celebrity status to keep the status quo & just walk away without paying to see if or HOW someone CAN hold someone legally & financially responcible for their debts.
And, then after they acquire that college education the hard way, use the same game plan to hold those people who are spending Randy's money responcible.
It sounds crazy but I think that is where Randy's head is at. He & his wife sure don't look like they are ashamed of their ignorance & actions.

I don't know why anyone would suggest that any of the stupidity of any of the celebs, are merely Publicity Stunts. Randy obviously is having financial troubles, & Mickenzey Phillips is obviously telling the truth, no surprise there, & YES she wants to sell books, that's WHY she wrote it, too make money, but she IS TELLING THE TRUTH.

Burglary?? What, did they forcebly enter the hotel and start stealing posessions? Did they pack up the towels and TV? Did they cart out the mattress and desk?

Most likely it is either an error with their accountant or a dispute between them and the hotel on the amount owed/services rendered. Instead of working through it in a civil manner (after all it isn't like the Quaid's are not easily found), some hotel moron decided to call the police, which was guaranteed to excalate the situation for the worse. The cops then deciced to "show them hollywood types" and covering their abuse by arresting them on bogus charges.

And........why should we care? The Quaids have the money and didn't want to pay up, that just disgusts me. But my overall question is still, why do we care that they were put in jail? Its not like they stiffed us. They were right to be jailed. If they ain't want to pay then they shouldn't have gone anywhere. They got what they deserved if you ask me.

I heard that many moons ago during Kevin Costner's struggling years he pulled an "E & B" routine - eat it and beat it- on his honeymoon. How tacky! However, when he became successful he repaid his debt. How convenient.
