Chynna and Bijou Phillips Support Their Sister, With Regrets

Chynna and Bijou Phillips have known the truth for years now -- that their father and half-sister were longtime lovers -- but it's the way Mackenzie revealed their darkest "family secret" to the world that has them both upset. On Friday's 'Oprah,' Chynna revealed she was told the truth 12 years ago, and is proud of her half-sister for facing her demons. But she isn't without her reservations about the way Mackenzie Phillips rolled out the news, via a tell-all book titled 'High on Arrival.'

"Am I exceedingly joyful that my family secret that I told maybe my therapist, my husband and my very best friend in the whole word [is now public]? No."

Bijou was only 13 when her older sister told her the shocking story. In a statement, she reveals how the news was "confusing and scary" for her at the time. Adding, "as I lived alone with my father since I was 3, I didn't know what to believe."

Her confusion was only compounded when "shortly there after Mackenzie told me it didn't happen."

"I understand Mackenzie's need to come clean with a history she feels will help others, but it's devastating to have the world watch as we try and mend broken fences, especially when the man in question isn't here to defend himself."

It would be nice if the people who didn't know the first thing about this would just for once not add their two cents. It's two worthless cents. You don't have to comment on everything you know. You can't stand the fact that Mackenzie opened her mouth to tell the truth, but, by god, you'll have your two cents heard to be sure. Hippocrits. Everyone else but you has to shut up and keep it quiet. What a laugh. Hippocrits with a capital H.

what a liar. It's easy to blame someone when they're dead and they can't defend themselves. Just to sell a book. I hope the book bombs. What a tramp. Keep your dirty garbage in your house. You were 19 and it went on for 10 years. You wanted it you low life piece of crap. They're are people out there who really were molested and raped and your doing them a disservice. I hope you rot. Even your own mother doesn't believe you. Check yourself into a psych unit. I feel sorry for your kid.

I think Mickenizie is corageous for telling her story. I believe that I could have helped my childhood friends and I didn't because to even discuss a topic of sex was taboo in my house. Insest would not have been something I could talk about even if I thought it was happing to my friends.

I would have told my parents that things in that home was definately not right.

I would like her to take a lie detector test by a
world renowned expert. I still don't believe that
digusting story. If it were true, she should have
kept that story to herself and not sickened the rest of the world with it. She's really sick if she had an affair with her father. There's more to this story. Someone give her a lie detector test,please! Maury Povich are you listening? And, Oprah you are just as disgusting for airing this story without backing it up. I don't care if her siblings, half or not, back her up. She recanted her story years before. Proof positive, please.
