Breaking Down the Gosselin He-Said, She-Said Drama

When the Gosselins announced they were divorcing, the two kept things classy and civil at the time, with both parties releasing mostly PC statements.

>> 6/22/09: Kate said: "Over the course of this weekend, Jon's activities have left me no choice but to file legal procedures in order to protect myself and our children. While there are reasons why it was appropriate and necessary for me to initiate this proceeding, I do not wish to discuss those reasons at this time, in the hope that all issues will be resolved amicably between Jon and myself. As always, my first priority remains our children."

Jon said: "This afternoon, Kate filed for divorce. Our kids are still my number one priority. I love them and want to make sure they stay happy, healthy and safe. My job is being the best, most supportive and loving father that I can be to my kids, and not being married to Kate doesn't change that."

That's when the crazy train left the station.

>> 7/26/09: Just 19 days after the divorce announcement, Jon has already begun dating not one, but allegedly two women. The first, 22-year-old Hailey Glassman, daughter of the NYC plastic surgeon who gave Kate a tummy tuck in 2006. The second, Kate Major, a former reporter for Star magazine. John tells People magazine: "At this point ... I'm single – per se. I'm just a regular guy who just wants to have friendship and good times. And I like meeting people. When asked about his thoughts on his soon-to-be ex, he remained civil. "Kate and I agreed to a 45-day period in which we wouldn't talk about each other. After that we might be able to speak more freely."

>> 8/14/09: That moratorium doesn't last long. Jon tells Splash News that Kate "tried to 'cry it up' with the cops'" when authorities were called to the Gosselin home over a "misunderstanding." "It didn't work," Jon said. "They said, 'You have to leave.' I have no idea [why she was unhappy]. I guess [because] she didn't have approval. I didn't come home when she had custody and make a big stink. We're good judges of taking care of our kids and when we need babysitters, we need babysitters."

>> 8/28/09: Jon goes back to being civil. "I have no ill will toward Kate. She's the mother of my kids. She's a great mom. She does a lot for them."

>> 9/5/09 Jon defends his new girlfriend in In Touch magazine "Things have gotten out of control. Many people think that everything moved too fast, that I was out partying too quickly. But Kate gave up on the marriage last October, and the divorce will be finalized by September 30."

>> 9/8/09: Jon takes an accusatory stance against his ex and starts airing dirty laundry during a televised interview with Chris Cuomo for their ABC's "Primetime: Family Secrets." His juciest moments:

"I took a lot of abuse from her. I was put down. She'll call me, almost like a lame fish. Like I wasn't going anywhere.

"I can't sit on the sofa with that woman. I can't sit [with] someone right now that I despise. ... I despise [her] because she's not speaking from the heart. ... Please -- the stuff you tell me in private should be the stuff you tell me on TV."

"I think she still wears the ring for public perception. I don't wear my ring because she took my ring. I don't have it.

"I will always love Kate as the mother of my kids. But to tell you right now, at this point of what's going on, I do not love Kate."

"Help me out. Go to therapy. Give me closure."

And just for good measure, this gem about new girlfriend, Hailey Glassman: "I love her more than I did Kate."

Kate's response, via statement to ABC News: "While I certainly have a very different perception of how our marriage dissolved, for the sake of my children I maintain that I'm not going to go into details of aspects I believe should remain private."

>> 9/11/09: Kate addresses an audience at Ohio's second annual Cleveland Women's Show: "I've lost a lot of control in my life. At the beginning of all of this, you've heard me say before, I didn't want fans gawking, I didn't want people gawking, I just wanted to be myself, my family."

>> 9/14/09: Kate takes a turn as a "View" co-host and the high road, only briefly addressing her Jon drama. "This is definitely, I'm not going to lie, difficult. For the sake of my children I am going to continue taking the high road because it's the only road for me. It is not easy. I melted down over the weekend in the privacy of my own home."

>> 9/18/09: Two days after In Touch weekly ran an interview with nanny Stephanie Santoro, claiming she had an affair with Jon, Kate addresses the situation on 'The View.' Of the nanny, she says: "Just based on the behavior of the last several months, am I surprised? No ... It goes back to the police being called, the whole babysitter thing. This is the babysitter I objected to and I couldn't tell you why at that time. It was just like my mother's intuition. I did not want her there ... I'm not saying it's true or false. All I'm talking about is what my intuition is saying."
