Top 'Gossip Girl' Episode Moments That Would Never Happen in Real Life

Although 'Gossip Girl' continues to enchant us with juicy story lines and fashionable clothing, this season is blatantly fictitious about the freshman college experience. Does anyone remember moving into their college dorm? It was probably a small room in which you had to live, eat and sleep in -- while sharing it with a person you'd never met. Yet, when the Upper East Siders moved into their new digs at NYU, it was obvious their college lifestyle would be a larger-than-life exaggeration. Here's a list of things that caught our eye during the third season episodes that we're sure would never happen in real life.

1. Dorm Size
Anyone who has been to college knows a dorm room is a nice term for the hole in the wall you'll be living in -- and is nothing like Blair Waldorf's huge palace-like NYU digs. At one point, 15 students are sitting comfortably in a dorm room watching a movie. With plenty of room to walk around, it's far fetched from typical dorm living spaces.

2. Students Choosing Pizza Over Free Alcohol
If something is free, you take it. But when Blair Waldorf invites her entire floor to a party with free food and sake, only one person shows up. She finds out the other students ditched her "sushi and sake party" to order greasy pizza and watch a gardening documentary instead. While we're not promoting underage drinking, we're pretty sure a typical student would pick free alcohol about 99% of the time with pizza to come later... around 2 a.m.

3. Where's the coffee?
During college, coffee becomes its own food group (along with Ramen noodles of course.) While Dan Humphrey usually has his caffeine fix in hand, the rest of the 'Gossip' guys and gals don't see it as a necessary accessory. Honestly, they should be literally falling onto the famous Mud Truck, which is located right in NYU territory. Trust me, all the cool kids are drinking it.

4. Staying close with a high school frenemy.
We know it's a TV show, but every time we watch 'Gossip Girl' episodes, we're torn with the fact that Blair Waldorf and Dan Humphrey maintain their friendship even though they despise each other. In real life, people move on, and you'll (hopefully) never see them again until the high school reunion.

5. Rooftop Parties
Forgive me for one second, but... Seriously show me a newbie freshman who knows enough people to 1. throw a rocking party 2. sneak kegs past tight security and 3. host a loud DJ on a dorm roof without being caught. Just sayin.'

ANSWERS TO EACH STATEMENT:
1) There are apartment dorms that could accommodate 15 people.
2) Alcohol during freshman year? The would go for the pizza being under age in NYC, everyone is carded in every bar you go in to.
3) Coffee does become a staple. Most would take the meal plan, and you get quite a selection. Starbucks is quite popular down by Washington Square and that is the most expensive thing you spend your money on
5) Yeah, you do stay friends with people you don't particularly like from your home town, because they are your touchstone, in fact, some people actually become friends after High School popularity contests and what not.
6) THE ROOFTOP PARTY WOULD NEVER HAPPEN - AND WHO HAS ACCESS TO THE SCHOOL ROOFTOP? SECURITY WOULD HAVE BUSTED THAT PARTY IN A SECOND.

I CAN'T BELIEVE MOMMY OR DADDY DIDN'T BUY ONE OF THEM A TRENDY APARTMENT IN SOHO, WHERE THEY CAN LET LOOSE AND PARTY AND A LOT MORE CRAZY STUFF COULD HAPPEN. PROBABLY SOMEONE WILL MOVE INTO ONE NEXT SEASON. IT WOULD BE SO MUCH COOLER AND EASIER THAN HAVING TO DRIVE DOWN FROM THE UPPER EAST SIDE.

Actually NYU dorms are really spacious and can easily fit 15 people. (not to mention very freaking expensive)

& Roof top parties are not as uncommon as made out to be. Of course not the roof top of dorm rooms cuz that is just impossible, but roof tops of apartments since many kids opt for off campus housing

lets not forget that serena and chuck just happen to show up at blair's room, when you have to be signed in by the resident to get past nyu security!
and i work on the street where they "live" .. there is no nyu dorm there, just sayin

I don't understand why people are getting so touchy about this... it's a t.v. show. Enjoy it for what it is.... a fictional show about the exploits of silly kids with big drama and way too much access to waaaaay too much money. LOL! I love Gossip Girl.
