Jay you are an ignorant person...

Monique should be aashamed of herself. Everyone elese attend and they were bigger stars than she is and didn't ask. She should have been there to the support the young actress who is just starting out. It ain't always about the money. Wake up Black folks.

mamadiva: WELL SAID!
Monique is in a film that is getting promoted by Oprah & Tyler Perry, & is gettign great reviews. She needs 2 remain humble!
If she wants 2 be paid more $ 4 publicity, she needs 2 rethink that. It is about $3000 for tickets to the Oscars, which film studios pay.
Calm DOWN Mo.
when you go "diva" people lose respect.. think about it..

If she was paid to do the movie, then she shouldn't have to get paid to promote it. Then if it bombs at the box office she will blame everyone else for lack of promotion if she was smart she should have asked for a cut of the box office instead of a paycheck and then do some mad promo all over the world them her purse would be bigger this is why will smith banks over 50 million a year.

Hopefully, it will bomb and no one ever hires her no talent ass again. Shame on her trying to be a diva with so little talent. And she is nothing to look at either.
Well said! She should be proud to attend. A swelled head and ego and arrogance are not attractive features in anyone. That can bring even a talented person down, if the public turns against you. Monique is not that big of a star, and she's not the entire movie, either. I say, "Get down off your high horse, and act like a grown woman and a lady, if that's possible."
Jay why is race an issue why can't you just say fat and leave it at that. You will be one who will burn in hell in the end

Sadly, AOL and other sites like it have become the premier venue for all of the closet racists to vent their frustrations about people of color. As much of this crap as appears in the comments on this site makes me wonder who the powers-that-be at AOL are and how they can continue to allow these crazies to post the most vicious comments and veiled threats against black people or anyone who doesn't look like them. Monique may indeed be fat and black, but she deserves the same respect as any other human being. So to "Jay" and all of the other closet racists (think, "cowards") out there, you need to stop hiding on these sites and just make your feelings known in public, so we can all SEE who you are. I'd love to see you make these comments in a very large group of black people or other people of color. The outcome would give me comic relief for at least a year.

Are you kidding me? This woman herself revolves around the whole "big black woman" thing. Her whole comedy routine is based on racist remarks about everyone else. And anyone can say what they want. Why don't you go out and promote racial harmony in the real world instead of hiding at home behind your own computer, policing "cowards."
I agree with you Katy. There are 2 ways to look at life--in a dark way or a light way. It seems easier to be mean and dark--but no one respects you in the end. They aren't there for your funeral saying how wonderful you were--they won't care and won't show up--they won't be there when you need help. Some people are nasty. For all of you white people who say mean things about other races-you impact others negatively and the same goes for black people who do. Hate is not a color(not to be cliche-it's the truth). It's gross. I do wish that she would have shown up for the premieres but I don't know the details and can't judge. Get a life bullies.
Black or White, she is plain greedy. Perhaps she should change her name to "Mo'Money". My response to her is: "No,Mo"

Hopefully she will never show up for anything again. What kind of person says, "Give me money or I'm not coming". A total loser that's who.

Thanks Katy. Thanks for letting us all know what a fine upstanding, non-racist, pure-of-heart, pillar-of-the-community, non-judgmental, loves-all-races, children-come-first, can't-we-all-just-get-along, selfless human being you are. Gosh, gee wiz, I wish I were as wonderful as you. God bless us everyone!

Jay! written like a true idiot! Can't keep with the topic but strays with insults about race.
Nevertheless, what is Monique famous for??????? other than precious?

I hear she is terrific in the role, so I don't understand why she would attend the premiers. They do pay for hotel and meals. Promote the thing Monique. It's only beneficial for your career in the long run. Don't be short-sighted.

I don't care if she's purple, this girl is ugly.

Really - Enough-Is-Enough!
First of all, these stories are designed to get everyone riled up and turn against one another. The writer probably thrives on reading all the comments and relishes on the chaos he/she created. You are all buying into it like little sheep marching into the wolf's den.
Aside from that, enough with deducing everything down to race and color of skin! How long is it going to take before we all accept the fact that EVERYONE is different? No two people are alike, not even if they have the same skin color let alone a different one. I can't believe that after all this time, people are still looking down on others; for any reason. In the grand scheme of things, all we are doing is spinning our wheels and expending energy that could be better focused elsewhere.
It's time to stop!

well said i could not have said it better myself there should be more people in this world with minds or thoughts such as our own yet unfortunately we are all different indeed.
I have never heard of this person before. What has she done that makes her think she is importanat?
