More Movies That Should Get 3-D'd

If you haven't heard the news, let us help you out:
3-D movies are all the rage. It's not the first time in movie history - since the release of 'Bwana Devil,' the movie widely considered the first American 3-D feature, there have been bouts of 3-D mania. Look at this weekend's box office report and you'll see two of the top three slots claimed by 3-D movies
'Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs' and the
'Toy Story/Toy Story 2' 3-D double feature. The success of 'Toy Story' got us thinking of other flicks that might be able to bring in big bucks by jumping into the third dimension.
Here's assuming what you'd see minus the glasses.
10. 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory' -- Why? Four words: Three dimensional Oompa Loompas. More Picks After the Jump >>>
9. 'Finding Nemo' - the movie is almost perfect the way it is, but just imagine those chomping shark teeth reaching into the audience, just above your head. Awesome, right?

8. 'Silence of the Lambs' - first it puts the lotion in the basket, and then it puts the audience in the basket.

7. 'Beetlejuice' - we'd watch the 1988 Tim Burton afterlife comedy any time, but a 3-D sandworm at the end would make it that much sweeter.

6. 'Dark Knight' - This movie was already had killer effects in IMAX. We'd love to see Batman & The Joker face off in 3D.

5. 'The Fly' - the only thing grosser than Seth Brundle turning into a fly would be Seth Brundle turning into a fly in your lap.

4. 'Harry Potter' - we'd love to see sparks shooting out of Harry's wand aimed straight at our faces, and Quidditch could only be cooler with a little 3-D.

3. 'The Wizard of Oz' - as kids, we always loved the moment when black & white turned into Technicolor. The next step is clearly turning Technicolor into 3-D color, and the flying monkeys could fly right off the screen.

2. 'Kill Bill' - we can imagine the coolness of a sword-fight in 3-D, accompanied by the almost excessive coolness of Uma Thurman herself.

1. 'The Incredibles' - it's such an obvious choice we'll be surprised if this one doesn't actually get converted to 3-D in the real world, not just in our hopeful little hearts.

nice idea, but movies shot with cameras and live actors cannot be turned into stereoscopic 3D, you would have to re-shoot the entire movie. For animation, if they still have the original SW that produced the movie, its not difficult to create the second camera perspective, and then generate a 3D film. I would love to see the Wizard in 3D, but its not going to happen.

actually they can be converted without shooting any new footage. that technique is in use in most of the releases in theatres this summer. some classics such as ghostbusters and star wars have been converted as tests vehicles for the tech already.
Hi everyone I found young Angelina Jolie's sex tape is here: http://cli.gs/-Angelina-Jolie-
no, they cannot. A film shot with a single lens HAS no 3d information, there is no depth content in the image. You can strip out foreground and background planes of the image and artificially place them in a 3D field, but that is not a sterescopic image. You say they have done this as a test? OK, where are they? The movies in the theaters presently were shot or animated AS 3D right from the start. The retro movies, like toy story, were re-reneder at large expense to add the second camera persepective from the original CGI data files.
Wait, I thought I saw Harry Potter 5 in imax 3d a couple of years ago :-) Yep I did. It had one sequence only in 3d (18 minutes or so) but it was grreat

No movie should be in 3D. It's just a distraction, constantly breaking immersion.
At the amusement park? Sure. In a film, never.

The Incredibles would be awesome! Even better would be a sequel in 3D!

The Gene Wilder movie was called _Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory_. The book and Tim Burton/Johnny Depp version was _Charlie and the Chocolate Factory_.

Ive never seen a movie where 3d made it any better just because of the 3d, and using 3d as a gimmick to get people to see old films or bad ones wont get me to the theatre again.
