'Housewives' Star Kathryn Joosten 'Great' Following Lung Surgery

'Desperate Housewives' actress Kathryn Joosten is recovering after having surgery on Monday to remove a cancerous growth on her lung, PEOPLE is reporting, after her cancer returned last month. Doctors believe the cancer was well contained and that the Emmy-winning star (formerly of 'West Wing') should recover.

"She's doing great," her rep says. "She'll be in the hospital recovering for a few days. And she'll need to go in for proactive CAT Scans every few months. But there will be no [need for] chemo, no radiation."

"She'll be back to her feisty old self, chasing her old man down the street any day now," her rep adds.

This is the second round of lung cancer for Joosten, who plays Mrs. McCluskey on 'Housewives.'

I'm soooo glad Kathryn Joosten; "Housewives" is going to pull through her cancer surgery. The only reason I watch the show is because of her. However, she should have a lot more presence to keep any interest in the show.
I'm also a cancer survivor; many of us out there. Kathryn's an absolutely perfect actress & her spunk is touching & funny. Having Lily Tomlin as a sister; on the show, made me want to write to have both of them with their own show. Maybe a remake of Snoop Sisters.

I love Mrs. McCluskey on Desperate Housewives. She is one of the best characters and I hope she gets more storylines. I wish Kathryn Joosten a speedy and complete recovery. She is a classy lady.
