DeLay Quits 'DWTS' Over Feet Problems

There will be no more dancing for former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay. The Texas Republican -- nickname The Hammer -- announced his departure from 'Dancing With the Stars' on Tuesday after being diagnosed with stress fractures in both feet.

DeLay danced the samba on Monday's show against the advice of his doctors and earned 15 points out of 30 for his performance with partner Cheryl Burke.

Fan votes kept DeLay afloat, but doctors and show producers advised him to quit the competition because of his injuries.

"I want to dance no matter what," the 62-year-old former House Republican Whip said Monday, but he reconsidered on Tuesday.

The Hammer wasn't the only star to leave the show. Debbie Mazar and her partner, Maksim Chmerkovskiy, were also kicked off.

Those type of facts don't make it to Faux news. They are suppressed, spun beyond recognition or just plain ignored. Since most Faux viewers only get their news there and nowhere else, it seems logical to them to believe what they are told. Remember Fauxs' motto: We Distort, You Comply.

I agree with you 100%. Something is terribly wrong with the last few seasons of DWTS - the people they invite to perform have absolutely no business stepping foot onto the stage and of all people, Tom DeLay?? what were they thinking - he does belong in jail and after all the media during his "bad boy" days, he should never have been asked.

Sorry that the producers paired Cheryl with Tom Delay, she seems to get those that aren't given moves since Drew Lachey. She doesn't deserve to be off this soon, but I do understand Tom Delay's need to stay off his feet. Although he ultimately isn't a dancer, have to give it to him for not giving up and going on with the show. Sure if his feet were better, with Cheryl's talent, he may have picked up the beat and done very well.

I guess you didn't watch Dancing With The Stars last season. Because if you had you would have seen that not only did Cheryl Burke have a very talented partner(Gilles Marini), but they came in second, missing first place by a margin of 1% of the votes. So don't feel sorry for her she made it to the last show of the season.

Giving Delay credit for going on?What do you mean,he quitting just like I know he would.This was a bad selection on ABC to begin with and could'nt be happier that this puke is giving it up.Only decent thing this puke has done since he was very small child.Maybe some D.A. somewhere will do their job and put this puke in Jail where he belongs.

God works in mysterious ways. He was already on too long. So if the public didn't vote him off, God stepped in & took care of business. I haven't watched DWTS this season because he was on it. He should have been paired with one of the freshman dancers. He should be ashamed to flaunt his disregard for the law. He has been indicted & it is abuse of the Judicial System that he remains free, any regular Joe would be behind bars awaiting the disposition of his case.

You've got to be kidding!!!? This guy is an embarrassment to DWTS, and more importantly an embarrassment to the country. Good riddance. Having personalities like him and Leachman makes me want to stop watching my favorite show on TV.!
I keep watching so as to not "cut my nose off to spite my face"; I love the dancing and entertainment...but wonder if next season I'll be able to ignore the producer's seeming desire to insult their loyal viewers, and continue watching.

Stress fractures my butt. More like ego fractures from the embarrassment of being first a political laughing stock and has-been, to a freak show on national TV. This losers ego must be really fragile that he needed attention soooo badly that he'd subject himself to this humiliation.

BALLS! Stress fractures-Delay certainly has the biggest pair - by the way when is his trial? It will be most enlightening to learn whether he is exonerated or - as ex Mz.. something or other put it - opposite. Of course if his fractures in those extremities match those in his noggin - they will require time to heal-Delay knows well about heel. Prior to showering in the slammer he'll require recovery for running purposes- he's so very cute some of those bigger guys always like a fresh--end.
