DeLay Quits 'DWTS' Over Feet Problems

There will be no more dancing for former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay. The Texas Republican -- nickname The Hammer -- announced his departure from 'Dancing With the Stars' on Tuesday after being diagnosed with stress fractures in both feet.

DeLay danced the samba on Monday's show against the advice of his doctors and earned 15 points out of 30 for his performance with partner Cheryl Burke.

Fan votes kept DeLay afloat, but doctors and show producers advised him to quit the competition because of his injuries.

"I want to dance no matter what," the 62-year-old former House Republican Whip said Monday, but he reconsidered on Tuesday.

The Hammer wasn't the only star to leave the show. Debbie Mazar and her partner, Maksim Chmerkovskiy, were also kicked off.

I'm glad he retired because I think he would have gone on and on and taken votes away from a worthy couple - which has happened in the past. Besides, i think he's kind of slimey and didn't enjoy seeing him dance with Cheryl.

I am looking forward to seeing them dancing the Lombada, and Bolero,that should be awesome!
Tom Delay shouldn't have been a contestant on the show, but it goes to show that sociopathic liars are so full of themselves and feel no responsibility or self respect. However, I did feel bad that Cheryl was paired off with him. I would've loved to have seen her with Michael Irvin or anyone else, not Tom Delay.
Yes, if indeed it wasn't an act and he in fact had problems with his feet, then I can show empathy for that, but not for his past actions, and NO, he didn't belong on this show!
Stage appeal, fun and a person that tries very hard to keep up with the choreographer, that is entertainment.
This season, DONNY OSMOND, GIVE ME A BREAK!
Boring season if ever!
