Beyonce Knowles is finally speaking out about her loss to Taylor Swift at the VMAs, which prompted Kanye West to storm the stage and steal the young singer's moment after winning Best Female Video. "Well, I knew his intentions, and I knew he was standing up for art; and he told me before, when they said the nominees, he's like, 'You have this award,'" Knowles told O: The Oprah Magazine editor-at-large Gayle King (via MTV.)
"When they didn't call my name he was, like, completely shocked," she added. "And when he walked on the stage, I was like, 'No, no, no!' and then he spoke, and I was like, 'Oh, no, no, no!' "
When the camera panned to the 'Ladies' hitmaker, Jay-Z's wife looked visibly mortified. Meanwhile, Swift stood silently on the stage. To make matters worse, Swift had to perform the song shortly after Kanye's outburst. Watch it:

Beyonce knew she wanted to give Swift a second chance at a speech, so when she won Video of the Year later that evening, she called Swift back on stage to let the country star finish her speech.
"In the end, it ended up being a great night, and Taylor Swift did get her moment -- and I didn't have to make an acceptance speech," Knowles added with a laugh.
West has made several public apologies since the incident and even personally called Swift. Last month, Swift told ABC News Radio about his apology. "Kanye did call me. He was very sincere in his apology, and I accepted that apology," she said.
Recalling the incident, Swift said she was stunned by the whole situation. Swift said, "I think my overall thought process went something like: 'Wow, I can't believe I won. This is awesome. Don't trip and fall. I'm going to get to thank the fans, this is so cool. Oh! Kanye West is here. Cool haircut ... what are you doing there? And then, ouch, and then I guess I'm not going to get to thank the fans.'"
"I'm not going to say that I wasn't rattled by it, I had to perform live five minutes later. So I had to get myself back to the place where I could perform," Swift explained. When she was asked if in the future, everything would be fine between the two, Swift replied, "Yeah, definitely."

Thanks for saying it Tony. He just couldn't understand how we could have a black president and not win everything else. They are both spoiled brats and he's a bully. And you're right. Her videos are nothing short of soft porn for kids. You called them entitled. I use another term: "Obamafied".
Oh, please. Understanding why the guy did it isn't the same thing as knowing his intentions. He was drinking, made an ass out of himself because he thought someone else "should" have won. It's just his opinion that Beyonce's video was better, but apparently the people that were making the position. Kanye is a sick man who cannot deal with not being part of something, so he makes himself so, even if it is childish, wrong and just stupid. Beyonce now sounds just as bad.
yeah right she new his intentions and she loved it she did not show any shock she was laughing her ass off. and after she called swift up for her so called moment she also laugh at what swift was being thanful for. beyonce was just pulling a publicity stunt with all that moment crap.
HE'S STILL A CLASSLESS ASS. HE CAN APOLOGIZE TILL THE COWS COME HOME, BUT HE SHOULDN'T HAVE DONE IT, BEYONCE WAS SHOCKED AND DIDN'T KNOW WHAT HE WAS GOING TO DO AND WAS PUT ON THE SPOT, HE STOLE NOT ONLY SWIFT'S MOMENT WHICH ALTHOUGH SHE DID GET A DO OVE3R DUE TO BEYONCE'S GRACIOUSNESS, ALSO STOLE BEYONCE'S MOMENT AS WELL. WE ALL GENERALLY TRY AND THINK BEFORE WE SPEAK AND ACT, NOT SURE WHY KANYE THINKS WE CARE AND HE GETS A PASS. I'M TIRED OF "MY MOTHER DIED" AS ANY EXCUSE. GET THERAPY. MY MOTHER JUST DIED AND I DON'T RUN AROUND ACTING LIKE AN ASS, AND I DO HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY WORKING WITH ROCK/CONCERT ACTS.
Yes, racism is still alive today...just more blacks are racist than whites these days. I've had to hear for years and years what my ancestors did....blah! Enough already!! If a white person did that to a black person, they'd be SCREAMING racism! Obama got elected because whites were too scared NOT to vote for him! See, I don't have a problem with people, regardless of your tace...until you start pulling the race card and then I'm done. Kanye is a racist jerk and why people are still buying and listening to him I don't know.
ART? There IS NO ART involved in these! Oh, wait, the old stand-by bs about "it's in the eye of the beholder"...............
I have been a fan of her music, but most videos these days have nothing to do with the music and everything to do with exhibitionism. No "class" in them at all!
I think Beyonce is beautiful and talented and how she handled that night with Taylor Swift was a nice move...But to try and explain what Kanye did in the name of art is almost saying that she understands where he is coming from then what Taylor Swift did doesn't qualify...Thats a bit insulting also. I liked Beyonce's video and it showed great dance moves and choreography..But Taylors was good too in a totally different way..
Some people would like to think that Beyonce made a classy gesture, but really now, why was she smiling the whole time that punk rambled about nothing important, (his opinion), about how SHE should have won? Read between the lines, and stop being naive because this girl only did that because she knew it would come back and bite her in the a$$ anyways if she sat and did nothing.....
Pure class my butt! Why does everyone think Beyonce is so great for what she did? When they showed her sitting in the audience when that a-hole was up there, she didn't looked shocked to me, she was smiling! Class would have been for her to tell the a-hole, in front of everyone, that what he did was wrong and to never do it again. And standing up for art? Bullcrap! He was standing up for his opinion only. The man has serious mental issues and Beyonce is a complete phony to me. Shocked my ass! So basically what Beyonce was saying is that her video is "art" and Taylor's wasn't. Nice Beyonce, once again your true colors shine through.

I don't care if the Beyonce-Taylor thing was staged or not, but one thing that was not staged is the fact that Kanye West is an ass hole.

You...are an IDIOT.
Try walking in someone's shoes before speaking.
I think it will be highly educational for you, and education is clearly something you missed out on.

She was SMILING because it's what performers are trained to do.
Things go wrong, Smile and put on a good face.
You could tell she was confused and nervous.
You don't know what her inner monologue was anymore than anyone else does, but she stood to gain NOTHING by this.
Moreover, she did what she could to make things right even though none of it was her fault.
I for one hope there are more people like Beyonce out there than Kanye.
And for all you ignorant, goat-humping, inferiority complex ridden Jethros out there, that comment, and this story, has NOTHING to do with race
