Ugly Brinkley Divorce Gets Even Uglier

Despite their divorce being official for a year, things are far from amicable for supermodel Christie Brinkley and her ex-husband Peter Cook. The two were in court on Wednesday sparring over terms of their settlement, with each accusing the other of ill-doing involving the couple's children and asking that each other be jailed.

Cook and his attorneys claim that Brinkley is attempting to sabotage the father's relationship with his children. He claims that Brinkley refused to turn over son Jack's passport in a timely fashion, which caused him to miss a school trip to Israel that was supposed to be chaperoned by Cook.

"She is doing everything she can to ruin my relationship with my kids ... I am trying to move on with my life and I wish she would do the same," Cook told the New York Post.

Due to this and other violations that Cook is claiming, his legal team is
Brinkley's lawyer Peter Caronia calls Cook's claims "without merit and totally disingenuous," saying that Brinkley was late in handing the passport over because of the death of a friend's mother and Cook's refusal to pick it up himself.

Cook asked for Brinkley to be imprisoned and forced to take anger management classes, and also wants additional child visitation rights. Brinkley claims that Cook is in the wrong for talking about their case on talk shows and also letting his new girlfriend to spend time with their children. She also wants Cook jailed, and asked for reimbursement of legal fees and to be paid from the sale of the couple's old boat.

The divorce between Brinkley and Cook turned very ugly and very public when Cook's affair with a teenage store clerk became public.

Does anyone recall that she pushed Rick Taub to give up his paternal rights to his son Jack so Peter Cook could adopt him? I'm pretty sure she tried to keep Rick's kid away from him.
I don't think she can be easy to live with, altho there's no excuse for her husband seducing a teen.

That is true that most of the stars don't marry for love. But there are a few still married. I also now that Bill Joel and Christy were living together before they got married. I think it was for love. They should just stop looking and get back togther. All the stars should go back to the people they loved and stop making marriage look like a joke and take it more seriousley. If I had half there money they have I would be taking care of my husband and family with it and not using it to distroy my life.

Many men become very jealous of their wives when they are pretty and in this case having wealth too, she had it all. Maybe he wanted to secretly get back at her so he could feel better about himself. Cook wanted to have his cake and eat it too. Five minutes of pleasure isn't worth giving up a life time of family happiness. What a legacy to leave his children ... Dad was a cheater.

It sounds like she is still very bitter after the divorce. He was in the wrong. It is never okay to cheat period, but she should get over it now. The majority of marriages end in divorce for various reasons, chief among which are sex, and money. It usually is a lack of both or some derivative or tangent thereof. The moral to the story is that men and women should not let marriage; children, etc… take all the fun, passion, lust, and romance out of the relationship. If you let these things disappear soon the marriage will also. Hold out for exactly whom you want in life, and don’t change, or don’t get married!

Not all of the men who have commented here are like the ones that you refer to in your comment did you read what I wrote. I think that life is a two way street. Yes, He was totally wrong for what he did, end of story. But, by the same token the vindictiveness that she is displaying now really hurts the children more than anything else. She needs to get over the fact that he cheated on her with a young girl. People should not get married unless that person is everything you want them to be in every area, anything less is just settling life is too short to settle. If something changes during the marriage that makes it unlivable or not what you wanted get divorced and live with the consequences.
