A tweet appeared several hours ago that the film icon was recovering from her heart procedure nicely.
'Dear Friends, My heart procedure went off perfectly. It's like having a brand new ticker. Thank you for your prayers and good wishes' went the tweet @DameElizabeth.
The actress broke the news of her upcoming surgery earlier this week.
"Dear Friends, I would like to let you know before it gets in the papers that I am going into the hospital to have a procedure on my heart," she wrote. A followup tweet stated "It's very new and involves repairing my leaky valve using a clip device, without open heart surgery, so that my heart will function better."
A representative for Elizabeth Taylor did not comment, leaving the text messages to do the work.
Get Well Soon Liz With a Steamy Clip From Your 'Cleopatra':
Brava, Dame Elizabeth. I am 74 years old and have been a fan of yours since you and I were youngsters together! I wish you the best as you recover from the new procedure and go about your busy life. I send you all sorts of good wishes.

It is a privledge to be able to send you a message. I have been a fan of yours since I was 9. I am now 58. When I was 11, I wrote you a letter to an address in Hollywood and I was sent a beautiful glossy 3x5 black and white picture where you wore a black hat and light colored outfit with a broach. Very beautiful. To this day I always thought you signed it because the ink was blue and it looked raised. I am looking it it right now as I have it displayed in my home office. I always saw all of your movies. You ARE what I call the "movie star" and always will be. I am a singer and when I got to the point where my songs were playing on 101 radio stations in Texas, and had I requests perform concerts there, I decided I could not leave my 5 boys(including twins)and stayed in SF Bay area and played locally. I did receive "Female Vocalist of the Year" from The California Country Music Association. I started at 4 years old singing on San Francisco stages doing my own shows(San Francisco Opera House, etc.), which leads to why I followed your amazing life - I always wanted to be a movie star like you. You were my idol. Blessings to you, and thank you so much for writing to us and giving us the joy of watching you on film. I am so happy that are you doing better. You are awesome!
Liz, thanks for sharing your life with all of who have loved your work for these many years. You have been very loyal to those you love and I've always admired that about you. I'm going to be 75 next Monday so I remember you when you first started in National Velvet and I recently acquired a copy of it. It still plays very well. And, you. You look MAHVELOUS!
So happy to hear your surgery went well...I wish you a speedy recovery and hope soon that you will be up and running...You have always been a fan of mine...God Bless and take care...Angela
Blessings Elizabeth Taylor Our dear Lord has worked miracles again...you have been blessed many times in your life..the Lord has many more miracles ahead for you...and all of his children.....I am very honored to beable to email you and send you the best ....God Bless Marilynne
I was proud to hear that you came out of the operation well. Today's operations - - well? Anyway, I hope there are zero complications. I have always thought of you as the epitomy of beauty. And I have always (without realizing it) compared them to you. You know the rest.
Please get well soon. You have my prayers. I am 77 years old, and that is old enough to be able to show my appreciation for the effort you have put forth in the intimidating field you have chosen.
DEAR MS. TAYLOR, TO ME YOU WILL ALWAYS BE THE MOST BEAUTIFUL MOVIE STAR THERE EVER HAS BEEN OR EVER WILL BE. SO GLAD YOUR HEALTH IS GOOD. MY PRAYERS ARE WITH YOU AND YOURS, SANDY
Dear Ms Taylor I am so glad to hear you are doing well I will keep you in my prayer's and hope for a speedy recovery. You are one in a MILLION may the good Lord keep you safe, and peace be with you.
Hey, Ben, What kind of a nasty crack is that? Whether it's a movie star or not, the point is, a person just underwent heart surgery, at an advanced age, I might add. Have some respect and decency, and show some class by keeping your nasty remarks to yourself. If it was your grandmother, and someone made an unkind remark, how would you feel? It was a rotten thing to do.
we love you Elizabeth - you are beautiful person ! I watch your movies since I was a little girl ! you a the most beautiful actress ever ! and your voice ! from haven! We love you and we pray for you ! get well quickly and enjoy your life .....as you were born again ! God bless you!

God Bless you Elzabeth Taylor. As comments said before me, you ARE the MOST BEAUTIFUL woman in the world, and oh sweet lord!!! What an actress!!!! I am so happy this procedure went well. You had many many fans praying for you. God Bless! We love you.
Ms Elizabeth, god speed with your recovery. We are about the same age so I know how these older bodies can sometime fail us. Lets grow old gracefully and hopefully pain free, right? So glad your heart surgery is over and a success.
