Birkitt Reportedly Banned From CBS Set

In the ongoing saga stemming from David Letterman's admission of affairs with female employees and the impending extortion plot against him, a new report claims that the woman at the center of the story is no longer allowed on the 'Late Show' set.

TMZ is reporting that Stephanie Birkitt is no longer allowed at the Ed Sullivan Theater, where Letterman's 'Late Show' is filmed. They cite security sources who work on the show.

According to a TMZ source, there has been "a verbal order that she [Birkitt] is 'banned' from the property for the time being."

Worldwide Pants, the production company behind Letterman's 'Late Show,' insists that Birkitt "has not been banned," and that she's just "on paid leave of absence."

Birkitt is the woman at the center of the Letterman affair controversy. She had been Dave's assistant for years, and sometimes wound up in televised 'Late Show' skits.

This doesn't even qualify as sexual harassment because she willingly had sex with him, not to save her job. She is hardly a victim. She knew what she was doing when she slept with her boss. And he is probably trying to smooth things over at home. I know I wouldn't want my husband working with the assistant he had an affair with. But if they fire her than she will probably file a lawsuit. That is why office affairs get messy. He should have kept it in his pants and she shouldn't have had an affair with her boss then they wouldn't be in this mess to begin with.

She's not a victim, She was old enough to have an affair with a man she knew had a woman at home. She did not mind opening her legs to get money to pay for her college education. Perhaps they developed feelings for one another , that happens in life , to the commoners and everyone else. Why isn't the adulturer, lying, creepy old man banned from the set?! I don't care if was consentual sex or not. She didn't break her marriage vows. She wasn't in a position of power. Is she as guilty as he is...sure...but then the punishment should be the same. Laughs and great ratings for Letterman...bans for her? go figure. Blackmail is such an ugly word. David Letterman was given the first right of refusal on a movie deal where David renigged on the deal by writing a bad check. He in fact was offered 2 million dollars and that was a bargain basement price. Dave's Production Company would have obtained exclusive rights to the movie and royalty rights and given Dave the starring role. That's Show Business and Dave Blew It or She Did. How much is this thing going to cost David and CBS now?
