'Housewives' Ex Sues Over Rape, Dog Murder Claims

The ex-husband of 'Real Housewives of New Jersey' star Danielle Staub is suing her for defamation, saying recent claims that he raped her and murdered their dog during their marriage has scarred him emotionally and damaged his business.

TMZ reports that Kevin Maher, who was married to the Jersey girl for a year in the 1980s, filed a lawsuit Thursday in L.A. County Superior Court. He has received "serious and outrageous threats" since Staub made horrific claims in a PEOPLE article in June.

Maher spoke to E! Online earlier in the week:

"I am filing a lawsuit against my ex-wife, Danielle Staub, stemming from her allegations that I raped her on a bed of broken glass, inserted my handgun inside her and played Russian Roulette, and last but not least, killing her dog by way of hanging it," Maher states.

"She also threatened me on the reunion show that Bravo aired."

Staub has not issued a comment about the lawsuit.

Rosemary - He wrote a book slandering her. Maybe she can counter sue. They can both sue each other into complete poverty, the lawyers can get rich and the rest of the world with any luck will never have to hear anything more about these two losers.

I agree Rosemary, these are recent allegations that she has made about something she said happened in the very distant past. I believe she was pissed that he outed her in his book so she conjured up these stories to cover her tracks and portray herself as the victim for sympathy. If they really happened then why didn't she press charges in the 80's or anytime since then? Just for FYI, he was not a law officer, he was an informant for various law enforcement agencies....As for Suze, and a lot of others posting on this, get your facts straight. He did not slander her in his book. It's not even HIS book. It's a book ABOUT him, written by a man named Charles Kipps. By law it is not slander if it is the truth and every bit that went into the book was fact based and proven to be truth.

He was wrong for making a book, but if there were actual charges then it's hardly defaming her character.

Not that he was right, because he was also writing about his life as a law officer.

In any case, I am tired of reality tv shows taking over the tv. But if it brings in the money and drama, people will watch. And it's cheaper than getting actual celebs I guess.
