Jon and Kate Plus One Misspelled Cake

Jon and Kate Gosselin gave their oh-so bitter divorce brawl a break on Thursday in order to celebrate the birthdays of their twin daughters. Only, it didn't go off without a hitch. Jon brought a cake that had Mady's name misspelled. It had and extra "d."

A store manager told PEOPLE that the cake was ordered FOR the ex-'Jon and Kate Plus 8' star by an unnamed entertainment TV show and that the woman caller spelled out the name wrong. At the store, Jon brought along the cameras and complained about his wife. "She's dividing the family up," he said.

A day earlier, it appeared Jon Gosselin was only going to get to spend a couple of hours with Mady and Cara as they turned 9. "She's trying to prevent me from seeing my kids on their birthday because she doesn't want to see me," he said on Wednesday.

But Kate Gosselin apparently relented and allowed the dad to stay the whole day. Outside their Pennsylvania property, Jon described the visit as "cordial."

"I'm staying until the kids go to bed," he said during a break in the visit. "We're trying to be cordial for Mady and Cara."

According to RadarOnline.com, some members of the media were tipped off by Jon himself ... in exchange for a fee. If true, it would appear ironic considering his recent -- and successful -- attempts to shut down filming of the pair's reality show.

Entertainment Tonight reports Jon gave Mady a laptop computer, and Cara an ATV.

I love watching Jon and Kate plus 8 the kids are so cute. I think that Kate has done a good job so far by herself and jon is just a jackass and going to be sorry when she gets full custody because hes out screwing around and she is taking care of everything. I heard he is looking for a house in cali....whats he going to do then expect kate to put her eight children on a plane and let them fly by themselves He is not thinking about anyone but himself because he claims that he was forced to do all this he didnt choose it sorry but im sure she didnt hold a gun to his head.

I don't watch their show anymore and I wish they'd just go away. It's getting old!

All of these new shows cannot be that dumb to be buying this man's story. He cheated on his wife, numerous times, he left, he is the one flaunting his flings...or whatever you call them, he wants to be on that new show with Lindsay Lohan's Dad and Brittney's ex....so, he needs to get out of his contract with TLC. And, what better way to do it, than to pull a plug on the show....especially a few hours after TLC told the world he wasn't going to be on the show and was renaming the show.He isn't doing this for the benefit of his kids, he just wants to play it all up in the media, which the morons from ET seem to be buying! Poor baby, lives 3 hours away...in a one bedroom $5,000 a month condo? Driving a sports car? He is soooo loving all the attention, and now it comes out that he tipped the paps ( as he calls them) for a fee? Why did he have to come out of the house yesterday during the party for an interview? He kept saying all he wanted to do was see his kids, spend time with his kids, well I didn't see any of his kids down at his gate. This is all about the money! He probably will get alimony...LOSER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Where are the kid's grandparents in all of this. It seems that Jon & Kate only have THEIR best interests at heart and not the interests of their children. The Grandparents or Uncle Kevin & Aunt Jody need to intervene!!!!

Didn't you see the interviews? The Aunt and Uncle sold their story too. All because they weren't making money off the show anymore. But did the multiple interviews "for the good of the kids"...Yeah right!

I DON'T THINK KATE IS A GOOD MOTHER. SHE IS AN EXCELLENT CONTROLL FREAK. SHE LEAVES HER CHILDREN WITH BABY SITTERS AND NANNIES ALL THE TIME SO SHE CAN GO ON HER WAY AND BE A "STAR"..HA HA NO WONDER JON IS ACTING THE WAY HE IS. IT'S LIKE BEING IN PRISON FOR 10 YRS. everyone is making jon out to be the bad guy but what about kate it has been rumored that she has an apartment right around the corner from her boyfriend bodyguard. Is everyone forgetting that she to is at fault with the affair thing or is it easier to blame the man As for the kids both of the parents need to be involved in there lives and get away from all this tv crap and get back to reality.

Kate has not been shown to have had an affair. That story was originally planted by Jon and Kate 2 (who put it in the tabloids). Kate, the bodyguard and the bodyguard's wife have all denied there is an affair.

Tell me what mother of eight five y/o has the time or energy to have an affair, esp. with stay at home dad around. How would she do it?

OK- I do not know about the rest of you....... But enough already! I have a wonderful son, who is married to a precious woman. They are unable to have children. I would love for them to be parents. What a shame that Jon and Kate are so outragous. Why is it, that people who behave like them, crave attention, have to be right about everything, are the ones blessed to have children? One day, Jon and Kate will pay a big price- Their children will grow up....and be just like them!

TLC should just shut the show down so that both these dysfunctional parents can get their heads on straight. They need to start thinking about the emotional health of their children instead of being so self-absorbed!! STOP giving Jon and Kate the publicity that they crave. It only feeds into their superior attitudes!!

They most certainly should not shut down the show. How else does anyone expect a now single mother of 8 to support herself and her kids? Look at the Duggars, a family of 20 plus people and all of them are fine. It's not the filming that is screwing things up, it's the father. Nobody had a problem with the show until Jon decided to cheat on his wife, abandon his responsibilities and whore himself out. Now people can say well Kate was mean to him. I have a strong suspicion that she didn't start being mean to him when filming started. It's who she is and always was - a type A personality matched with a guy who can not make a solid thought for himself and most likely, never could.
Why should Kate and the kids suffer the monetary loss? They get to do things that a single mother of 8 could never dream of doing. These kids are learning so much through their travels. TLC did the right thing by dropping Jon and renaming the show Kate plus 8. The concept of the show was how the chldren relate to each otehr and how it is to raise that many children all the same age. It wasn't a show about happy family values.
