Since the death of his 4-year-old daughter Exodus in May, Mike Tyson still remains unclear about the details, but he likes it that way. "Because if I know, then there might be a blame for it. And if there's somebody to blame for it, there will be a problem," Tyson admitted to Oprah Winfrey on her show set to air Monday, Oct. 12.Tyson's 7-year-old son Miguel found Exodus entangled in a cord, dangling from an exercise treadmill at the family's Phoenix home. She subsequently died of her injuries a day later.
Tyson has been focusing more on his family in an attempt to overcome the tragic event and not react violently. "I was so happy that I had the tools in life, you know, to not go in that direction because I've been that direction," Tyson said (via PEOPLE.) "My family -- that's my biggest asset."
During the taping, he called his daughter "a little angel." Winfrey replied that she believes that's what Exodus has become.
"I don't know, Oprah. I'd like to believe that, and that sounds great," he said.

Somebody needs to clue you in Frank. Past behavior does not always equate to a probematic present. Past behavior teaches us what does and does not work. This man evidently used his past as a learning tool. Further, since his daughter was only 4 years old when she passed away, and he and the mother were together, how can you imply that he was not a good father or there for her? People grow up, they get older, they change. You stand in judgement, but I ask you, have you no time in your past that you wish had not been?
Reply
Tonya,
I would ask you to read the article. What "changed" Mike has to say is this: "I don't want to know what happened to my daughter because if I know then I will have to assign blame and then there will be trouble". Once again this thug who hasn't been out of jail long enough to parent anything is threatening whoever he determines that he would have to blame. Doesn't sound like a different guy to me.

I totally understand what Mike means in that he doesn't want to know the details of what happened to his little girl. My brother was stabbed to death 18 years ago and I still don't know the details of what happened. I didn't want to know the details then and I don't want to know them now, because it would hurt to much and no matter what happened, it will never bring him back to me.
Frank;
You are so bent on discrediting the man he is today by continually referring to his past that it's obvious you are taking some type of sinister but covert joy in the death of the man's child. Just admit it, you hate Mike Tyson and you are happy his daughter died.
Most people who have a history of violence coupled with bad decisions would probaly say what he said. Such things can trigger a reaction today that would be unnatural but which would have been natural in bygone days. Sometimes that is human nature, but it is not the measure of the complete man.
what one of them monkeys are standing over your sholder telling you what to type we all know it has to be one of them
He is saying he does not want to react the way he would have in the past. He lost his child but he does not want to fall into the same old mind set of looking for someone to blame and hate and destroy. If someone is to blame, God will deal with that someone. Part of his chosen faith is accepting God's will and moving on with life. Not focusing on tragedy and wallowing in it to the point of distruction (of himself or anyone else who might be seen as "at fault").
I hope he is able to do that. It's called PEACE OF MIND. It is something we should all strive for and something we all struggle with. I know I do.
It honestly doesn't matter what Mike's history entails. The fact is, his daughter was killed and ANYONE would be pissed; especially if you know there's someone to blame. He wasn't perfect, but a response like that tells me that he greatly cared for her.

Its a Shame the Child Died. BUT Fk that Homosexual THUG to bad it wasnt him that was Strangled

I don't blame him for not wanting to know the details. Knowing won't bring his child back. The marriage is going to have a hard enough row to hoe without playing the blame game;marriages often don't survive thedeath of a child.
Oh, and the child was home with her mother she was not being neglected, but you can't be with anyone every single second.

you're all idiots...except frank. what is most sickening about these responses to frank is that none of them are rooted in logic or anything reasonable. It seems more like blind allegiance inspired by culture and ignorance.

Bill Hicks,
You're the idiot, you ignorant F***!!
Frank, Stephen......have either of you thought to think that maybe, just maybe, Mike is saying that He may be somehow the blame? Not saying that his PAST history has anything to do with it, just the fact that he was away on business and was not home when the accident occurred. No matter what had transpired in the past, Mike, loved and adored his children. If either of you could see past your own evil thoughts, you would know that there have been numerous photos of him and his children together and you could see the love in his eyes for those kids. You idiots act as if the child was home alone, the childrens' mother was home, where was she that she did not notice the child was not present? If and when you have children (heaven forbid that they turn out like to two of you) just try to keep an eye on them 24/7, they can be out of your sight in a flash. If anything should happen to a child of yours, I hope none of your transgressions come to light. Leave Mike alone, he's in a lot of pain as it is. Say a prayer for the precious child he lost (and a few for yourselves)now that she is in the arms of the Almighty.

Ok here is my last post on this topic (because I must be speaking a different language). Here is the problem: 1)Mike Tyson's daughter was killed in a tragic accident and this was horriffic. It was not his fault that the child's neck became entangled in a cord OK? 2)Here is Mike's response: "I don't want to know what happened because if I do I will have to lay the blame somewhere and THEN THERE WILL BE TROUBLE!!!" The point I have tried to make 50 different ways is that rather than being supportive to his estranged wife and children (by the way he is living in Las Vegas) he resorts to his THUG nature of implied THREATS to "whomever he determines may have been responsible" Maybe if he would draw from a different part of himself other than the CRIMINAL part, he may find closure.

Okay Frankie here we go.It appears that you are so closed minded and can not comprehend what Mike was saying , first of all he never said anything about trouble he said problems but I can see where your hate comes from the story is not about Mike Tyson it's about Mike losing a child. You will speak ill of him and that is a given.I'm not sure if your a adult if you are please take some classes on how to carry yourself.
YEAH!!!! HAVE EITHER OF YOU THOUGHT TO THINK?????? HUH???? DOES ANYONE PROOF READ THE CRAP THEY TYPE??? DO PEOPLE ACTUALLY USE THAT EXPRESSION??? WOULDN'T IT BE STOP TO THINK????... HEY MIKE!!! ITS CALLED KARMA AND ITS A B@#$H!!!

Some people are very ignorant, life is not about you.God gave me a heart to forgive because I love people no matter what color. If you want to live in a world of hate, happy for you.Love and forgiveness heals.

Everyone knows Mike did not rape the beauty queen. That was a scam. How can we pass judgement for that. it happens all the time, example Kobe Big Ben. Tyson had a big target on his back.He did do one strange thing recently though he was married right after the death?I must say I don't understand that.Tyson was a product of his enviroment he grew up in the streets.Unlike the NFL which has a program in place to teach young men how to deal with the wealth and people coming after you,he had Don King wondering how to get more out of him for less.He truely is a sad story not just for the death of his child either.

Just when I thought I was done: Tonya claims that I am intent on discrediting the man Mike Tyson is today by bringing up his past......Then this 5'o'clock genius goes on to say that "Most people with a history of violence coupled with bad decisions would probably say what he said" Ooooooook then.......

Yes, frank. That's what i said. In your case, i see that you need some 'splainin. He has learned from his past and does not wish to repeat his past. The fact is, a child's death is actually something that can make reformed people relapse. So, in knowing this, such people actually focus on NOT allowing such things to trigger such a response. THAT is what he meant. You just don't like Tyson and are happy that he's got a misery that can only be compounded by relapse. Relapse that he is syaing he is going to be careful to avoid. Done with you.
