Soulja Boy Arrested After Running Away

Soulja Boy was arrested outside Atlanta on Wednesday night after he ran away from police officers when they showed up at a house he was using for a video shoot. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution is reporting that the 'Crank That' rapper took off running from the house and was arrested after he returned moments later.

Police were called to the scene around 9 p.m. following complaints that a group of people were hanging out at the possibly abandoned house. When officers approached the group, everyone scattered.

Capt. Jason Bolton summed it up: "He just ran from the police, and then he decided to come back" for his car, a white Range Rover.

TMZ reports that Soulja -- real name Deandre Cortez Way -- was charged with obstruction, a misdemeanor, and released.

He reportedly told police he was going fast because he had missed his exit. The 'Hey Ya' mastermind is free on $1,200 bond pending a court date April 29.

SOULJA boy, you did the right thing! Dang sounds like that guy hanging out at your video shoot set you up!! Dude, I did a year for that sh*t, someone threatening me and setting me up. I guess he thought he could get off of his charges by making you look bad: 8 counterfeit Benjamins and a weapon that seems pretty specific! Plus he figured that would cover his bond that he never paid for him being turned loose. Turn state's evidence on him, and fry his @ss! Life is too short, and you don't need friends like this that will f*ck up your career. It's taken me 3 years since my last arrest to put my life back together, and I was innocent of the charge that I got and still had to pay! GET A GOOD LAWYER DAWG! LOVE YOUR MUSIC!!

I just love how people like Mac stereotype people... I could be like him, and by his name say that he's an upper crust redneck who's the first to cry foul when he gets pulled over for speeding, when he knows that he was! The kind of guy who has failed to clean up his own back yard or front yard, as the case may be, and by the grace of God has not been ticketed yet for violating every county ordinance in the neighborhood. The guy who loves to label others, so he doesn't have to deal with his own issues or take any responsibility, and who gets off on being self-righteous rather than being morally correct for the sake of doing so.
