Kate Files for Alimony, Child Support From Jon

After accusing Jon Gosselin of taking $230,000 from their joint bank account, Kate Gosselin wants money from her estranged husband and has filed for alimony and child support, PEOPLE reports.

"She needs relief in light of the draining of substantial marital assets in violation of the arbitrator's decision that the money should be used only for specific purposes," her lawyer Mark Momjian says.

Although Jon's attorney, Mark Heller, wouldn't comment on Kate's actions, he said earlier that he hoped things would get worked out financially.

"We are hoping in the next few days we can all do some bookkeeping. I'm pretty sure this can come to a cordial resolution," Heller explained.

That woman is an abuser. I watched a clip of their 100th show when Emeril Lagassi was a guest.Kate kept hitting him with a cooking spoon,,and not in gentle jest, You could see how pissed Emeril was getting. He asked Jon "so this is your 100th show?' when jon answered , Emeril said "I'm amazed you made it." I pity those kids when the cameras leave.

Whooooo! Jon may have to give up his million $ apt in NYC, sell his luxury vehicle & move back to Pa. so it won't cost him a fortune in gas the few times he visits his children (when he needs the $$ from another TV interview). Now Kate, come on, that's just plain mean, LOL Go for it girl!

Well it is about time Kate nailed him. It was Kate who made sure her children of eight would be taken care of. She could not depend on Jon. Finally she did something smart. So, he wants the show of the air, okay Jon now pay your child support. If you can.

Gimme a break! Kate gets paid very well by TLS, she gets clothes, furniture etc. whatever she needs by their sponsors. Kate isn't paying for all that stuff. Kate is just trying to shut Jon up so she can keep filming and be a celebrity. She's gonna push to keep her show or alimony. I would really love it, if Jon filed for full custody, rofl.... after all the kids are Kates gravy train!

So uninformed some of you. Maybe you should break away from your blogging to actually learn what is really going on. TLC is NOT paying Kate anything and all pay stopped when the show went into suspension because of Jon. No money, mo income for Kate but Jon is demanding AND getting 6 figures for his interviews. Kate went on the Today show so she wouldn't be accused of what Jon is doing because it's well known that the Today show will only pay and are required to pay scale for guests which isn't much. Guests must be paid by the way because it's required by the network management because of some law.

As far as that goes Jon can file for spousal support and child support. After all Kate is the one who wanted out of the marriage. And since everyone says that Kate is the real bread winner that means she makes more money and she would be obligated to pay him. He is the better parent. You don't see him being mean to the kids or allowing the nanny to be mean to them.

Well, how much did this unemployed adult male with many children pay for those 5 carat diamond studd earrings. How much did he pay for those human hair plugs. What about that Harley motorcycle he drives.
And who pays the insurance on that plus maintainace. Who pays for his two driving license, too if he has no income. What about that trip he
took to the French Rivera, who paid for that and even his passport when he also bought along with his drug dealing coed girlfriend, busted for pot, hash and hashish oil on that vacation. And where did he get the money to pay for a very expensive Manhattan apartment. What about his meals, clothes, and trips to the Hamptons. If she is
such a snake, how did he wind up will all the goods and their children get stuck paying all his bills.

I don't know why everyone is blaming Jon Or Kate. It's both their responsibility to take care of the children. So what Jon has a new gf. Isn't he allowed to continue to live his own life? What if Kate has a bf? As long as he is contributing to his children lives then he's doing his share. What if Jon wanted full custody of the children?

Now that they have lived this lifestyle, there is no turning back. Jon & Kate have to be in the limelight and on talk shows and be in show business just to maintain their standard of living. So if you see them in tabloids know that they have to be to support all those kids they have.

If this doesn't prove she is only after the money, nothing will. Jon had a job when the show started, Kate made him quit to stay home and help her with the kids. Jon has no income, she is still getting paid by TLC. I've stopped watching the Today show because they keep letting her run to them to get on the air over every little thing. TLC - cancel the show and let this family get their act together.

Jon Gosselin is NOT a man in any way other than biologically. Concerned and loving Dad that he is, Jon decided to move to Manhattan, two hrs. away from his kids. He is laboring under the delusion that he is somehow attractive or "cool". He goes to LA and has lunch at The Ivy, which is like screaming "look at me". The man is a total jerk.

Some of those commenting against Kate asking for child support/alimony do not appear capable of adding 1 + 1 = 2, much less understand the finances of a single mom with 8 children. Yes, she should file for support. It's the responsible thing to do in her position. These same people have had negative remarks against Kate having already been out there working. Come on, people, wake up. Kate saw a long time ago that she could not depend on Jon to lead or plan for their family and she HAD to take that role. She even covered for him when he was terminated from his job by encouraging him to contribute to the family by staying home with the children (and babysitters, he did not have to handle it all by himself) while she went out and made the money for the family. I know MANY families where the husband/father does this because the wife/mother's skills bring in more than the husband if he was working outside the home. It has to be a MATURE, SECURE WITHIN HIMSELF man who can handle this. Jon was not, and is not now, and all the troubles that have come into this marriage/family have ALL stemmed from this one thing. The basic fact is that Jon never finished maturing before taking on the role of husband, then father. Everything goes back to that. As far as Kate "belittling" Jon, he also had choices in how he could have handled that. First of all, we only saw the very tip of the iceberg (Jon's do nothing - never take charge attitude with the family) on t.v. Kate saw it 24/7 and her remarks became ways that she was saying "help" to Jon. She was not right in choosing this particular method, but neither was his response (in finaling leaving the marriage and family). One great response by him would have been to respond in humor. I have seen this work in many marriages. Another would have been in going to counseling himself. He says that Kate would not go. I don't believe that for one minute. Anyway, having working in counseling, I know that 90% of the time the reluctant spouse will always come along to counseling later after the first one does. Most of all, NOTHING Kate did gave Jon the right to do what he has been doing. He is way off base. If you will look again at all Jon's actions and words in interviews, you will see a man who cannot make good decisions or choices, prefers pleasure over meeting responsibilities, cannot handle money wisely, etc. etc. (several expensive cars, out of state expensise condo, has a live-in girlfriend, talks openly against his wife and mother of his children, contradicts himself constantly, etc. etc.) Now look over at Kate: You say she is money-hungry. No, she went to "work", filming, writing a book, traveling to promote the book so that it would sell. That IS a job, people, and she took it on BECAUSE SHE SAW THAT SHE HAD TO. Her other offense, she belittled him. Well, we've already talked about that. None of her "offenses" have given him the right to do what he has been doing (or not doing). It is both of their responsibilities now to support the children. Kate is already earning money to do her part. She is simply calling him to task now (the same as you would do an irresponsible teenager who has not made his bed, picked up his dirty clothes, taken out the trash, done his schoolwork, but wants the car and money to go out with friends). Come on, people. Kate is being responsible.

you have to be kidding. If your so smart you would see how Kates ungrateful behavior toward others and selfishness. Will be a bad role model for her children. Do you want them to learn how to respect your mate off of thier mom.. or hey kids if its not brand new or top of the line, dont take anything offered to you. oh forgot if it doesnt match dont take that either.kids you can resell it at a consignment shop. turn your nose up to church memebers trying to help.. I think Kate makes more than Jon. That what she said about the book deal(s), etc. If that's true, then I think she may owe him alimony.

If I was Jon I would be pretty annoyed at Kate. She was a bully and treated Jon as tho he was her servant on TV. After a few times I couldn't watch it because it was embarssing. I'm guessing of course but I think now Kate must realize that her behavior was mostly responsibile for Jon's leaving. Once things progress it's tit for tat ... more embarssing! The public display of dislike they have for each other is so bad for the kids.
I believe when you decide to have children you owe them a complete family until they can manage emotionally on their own. That's somewhere around the time they head off to college. If you're having trouble get help, if you can't work it out tough! Those kids come first. If you put your life on display for all the world to see and it doesn't look good, that's too bad. Be better actors. If you decide to have 8 kids you better damn well be totally responsible for them. That's your duty as parents, But they know this. It's their egos that have gotten in the way.
TLC must have seen this coming. I wonder if it was good ratings to have Kate belittle Jon in front of millions? The whole thing is awful for those children. I'd like to see them get back to together for the kids and get help for themselves. But I don't want to see that on TV.

FOR WHOEVER IS "SS" IF KATE DID NOT DO WHAT SHE DID "BOOK TOURS, SPEAKING ENGAGEMENTS, THE SHOW, ETC. THEY WOULD NOT BE LIVING THE LIFE THEY ARE. JON WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO TRAVEL THE GLOBE WITH HIS GIRLFRIENDS. KATE HAS NOT DONE THAT!! EVERYTHING SHE DID WAS FOR HER KIDS, NOT LIKE HIM, WEARING THOSE STUPID CLOTHES WITH THOSE STUPID EARRINGS ON A BOAT ENJOYING HIMSELF WITHOUT CHILDREN!! SHE IS WELL RID OF HIM, NO ONE FORCED JON TO HAVE CHILDREN!! HOPEFULLY NOW HE WILL HAVE TO HANG UP THE "ED HARDY" T-SHIRTS AND GET A REAL JOB. HE'S GOT NO MOTIVATION, SO WHO KNOWS IF ANYONE WOULD HIRE HIM. HE CANNOT EVEN SPEAK - HE MUMBLES! KATE MAY HAVE TO CONTINUE MAKING THE MONEY FOR THE FAMILY AND GIVE HIM HIS LITTLE ALLOWANCE (LIKE THE CHILD HE ACTS LIKE)!
