Cage Owes Over $6M in Back Taxes

Oscar-winner Nicolas Cage now has the IRS after him.

A lien has been placed on the actor's real estate holdings because he owes $6 million in back taxes dating from 2007, PEOPLE reports.

The 'National Treasure' star also has another lien for over $350,000 in unpaid taxes dating from 2003 to 2005.

There has been no comment from the actor or his reps.

the commentor that seems to feel Liberals "don't pay the REAL taxes" or some gibberish like that, sorry, that just is not really true. if you make money no matter your politics you pay taxes, period!! me and my partner pay plenty in taxes every year, probably enough to pay for a new car or pick-up...whats so funny though, (not really funny!) is if marriage, or at least civil unions were legal our income as a couple would even be higher, as much as we hate to pay tax, as anyone does, we would grudgingly pay the higher rate, if and when we are given equal rights just like anyone else has!! but of course even though we pay more than most of these wingnutters out there, they feel we don't deserve equal rights? just wanna live our lives as everyone else wishes to as well!!

Wesley Snipes is not NOW in jail because he has posted bond and is appealing his case. I would bet however its just a matter of time and he will have to go to jail? Nic Cage is not in jail because he filed his taxes,it looks like he just owe's more tax than he paid? I assume he is given a chance to go before the IRS now and appeal their ruling and prove why he should not have to pay their figure plus interest and penalties? and to be sure if he ends up having to pay I am sure he will pay at some point, that is just a good year of movies for him to earn that much money? he will just have to get busy and read some scripts and do some movies no matter how he feels, and make that money. the IRS will be happy to wait for their money so long as they know its forth coming, that is unless Cage's tax attorney can prove he owes no further tax? Wesley Snipes was just trying to be funny by claiming he didn't have to file at all, or pay taxes at all? that is why he will spend time in jail?

I hope this doesn't slow production for "Ghost Ride 2: Attack of Mirror Ghost Rider". Nick Cage will be pulling double duty playing BOTH the good and evil Ghost Rider. Cannot wait, WOOOOOOOO!

Nick needs to claim he is a manic depressant because of his financial situation and get on disability and then he can draw a check from the gov't for the rest of his life. Hey it worked for me and I don't even have to go work and put up with all that crap anymore. :D

Poor baby...Are we supposed to feel sorry that Nicholas Cage can't control his spending and owes the IRS? With all the millions he has, shame on him that he can't find a better way to spend. Hey Nick,there are families struggling in this country to make ends meet.
