A little over a week ago, the news broke that David Letterman had several affairs over the years with female staffers of 'The Late Show.' His admission came because the comedian was allegedly the victim of an attempted extortion plot. What followed were several public apologies, including one to his wife Regina Lasko. But how do PopEater readers feel about the scandal? · Right after Letterman revealed the affair and extortion plot, we wanted to know if our readers were surprised by his confession. And 72 percent of over 196K were not. Get the Story and Vote

· But are people calling for him to be fired? Actually, no. Seventy-one percent of over 245K think the late-night host should keep his job. Get the Story and Vote

· Furthermore, 75 percent of over 72K voters don't think this situation will cause the show to lose viewers. Get the Story and Vote

· In fact, it's the extortion plot that 59 percent over over 67K readers believe will be remembered the most. Get the Story and Vote

· On Oct. 5, Letterman used his monologue to apologize to his wife, Regina Lasko. Sixty-nine percent of our readers didn't think he looked comfortable addressing the scandal, but a 55 percent majority agreed that he appeared sincere giving it. Get the Story and Vote

I used to like Letterman, but these days he seems like a self-absorbed, know-it-all waterhead.
He was mean and sarcastic to Hunter S Thompson, who secretly enjoyed scewering him because of his apparent self-worth.
Letterman is politically embryonic and is guilty of most things he tries to hang on OTHER PEOPLE.
He's a fraud.

Love David Letterman! Unlike the majority of people, he did step up and told the truth rather than be extorted by these creeps. He made personal choices that did not endanger a nation - unlike our politicians, so my response is, handle it Dave! and he is!!!

Ken has a point.Right is right even if no one is right.Wrong is still wrong even if everyone is wrong.That is a key to understanding morals and values.In this issue,beyond anything else,lying to a person you have alleged to love and who we presume has trusted you is wrong.Using your power wealth and influence to secure sexual favors from people who you supervise at work is wrong.If these things aren't wrong why apologize David?

I could care less what letterman does in his private life, what does bother me is the way he jokes about it on national tv. So this is how he loves his wife, by making a fool of her on tv. sorry no respect from me. as well as these senators and govenors who need to drag their wife and family with them to press conferances to confess when they get caught with another women. disgusting and weak.

Personally, I don't give a fig what Letterman does! I think he is a big time sexual nut case, Intense therapy for his sex problem he badly needs -- he even appeared to "get it off" via his sick words about Palin's child, as did his
sicko audience -- approved laughter was not appropriate!

Um, what people seem to be overlooking is the fact that this man has acted as the "moral compass" for many in the media who also cheated on significant others. Maybe he wasn't married at the time, but he was living with his baby momma when he fooled around with all these women. So, he's a gross cheater, people. I quit watching him when he became sooooo political against Sen. McCain during the last election...he hasn't been funny in a long time.
