Perez Hilton: Celebrity blogger used slurs against Black Eyed Peas frontman will.i.am following an altercation at the MuchMusic Video Awards. While Perez is standing by his comments, activists are outraged. "For someone in our own community to use it to attack another person is incredibly dangerous... It legitimizes use of a slur and sends a message that it is OK to attempt to dehumanize people by exploiting anti-gay attitudes."

Mickey Rourke: Rourke is defending video footage, which dates back to last November, of him calling a journalist a "fa**ot." The actor says he has plenty of gay friends, so it's okay for him to use it.

Shia LaBeouf: In a viral YouTube video, LaBeouf calls the friend an anti-gay slur – and gets hit in return. After the video surfaced online, LaBeouf's rep went on damage control: "He regrets having used the word in any capacity and is very embarrassed that this footage is being seen by anyone."

Jerry Lewis: During the 2007 Labor Day Telethon for the Muscular Dystrophy Association, Jerry Lewis almost let a gay slur slip while live on air. While talking to a cameraman, he joked: "Oh, your family has come to see you. You remember Bart, your oldest son, Jesse, the illiterate fa...", at which point he turned away from the camera as he apparently caught himself and ceased the gag in mid-sentence. He later apologized.

Isaiah Washington:While filming 'Grey's Anatomy' in 2006, Patrick Dempsey and Washington had a argument, in which Washington used the word "fa***t." That led to his estrangement from another co-star, T.R. Knight, now openly gay. The controversy resurfaced when the cast appeared at the Golden Globes in 2007 denying he ever used the slur. Despite apologizing, ABC dropped him from the show.

Scott Caan: Scott Caan, son of James Caan, got attacked the paparazzi with a gay slur and told him to get a real job. In his apology. Caan said, "I am sorry for using such a derogatory word. I was being harassed by a paparazzi, and unfortunately, the word slipped out. I don't ever condone the use of that word and I deeply apologize to anyone whom I may have offended."

Eminem: Eminem uses numerous anti-gay slurs in his albums, which have enraged Gay and Lesbian Alliance groups. He let the controversy simmer when he performed live with Elton John at the 2001 Grammy Awards. He poked fun at himself during the 2009 MTV movie Awards, when he was in on the joke, having prankster Sacha Baron Cohen (dressed as thong-wearing alter-ego, Bruno) land crotch first in his face.

If Rourke were to use the "N" word in reference to another minority group, there would be major outrage. Why is it any different for anti-gay slurs?

I'll give him credit for being true to himself and standing behind his words, BUT, the truth of the matter is that no one cares what this drunken hack says anyway. So, phfft...

Everyone has the right to say what they feel. And we have the right to disagree or agree. It's call "Freedom of Speech". Thank God, we live in a country where that is still possible.

as far as gay people and my opinion as to who they choose to be, i think there are alot bigger issues going on in the world then focusing on who decides weather two women are together or two men are together, it's their choice and who cares as long as they are happy. look at boy george everybody knew going to see him in concerts or buying his music back in the 80's that he was gay but put that aside not because of that but because of who he was, a very talented musician. let them live thier live the way they choose, we are all human one way or another. go boy george!

Because gay people do not have Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson and the BlacK Klux Klan to make a federal case out of it like they did for Tawana Brawley and Crystal Mangum.

black slurs are racist! RACIST, get it!!
Homosexuals make a choice, it's what they choose to be! Besides, the sluring party is showing how small they are, so what's the fuss about?

I am gay, and considering the source, I could really care less what he said. Doesn't affect me, it only represents who he is, and places his integrity in the toilet. And for all the Gays out their crying, get a life, and get on with the important issues, be bigger than a cry baby.

Cause it just is. Everybody fails to play it cool and then tempers flare over some words. And that's how problems arise, people today are too thin skinned and get too easily offended. And some people are looking to get offended just to make some headlines and politicize the whole event, whatever it may be. IF you play it cool it Cool like Mickey did there would be less tension.

although true, even then what his opinion is should not warrant an apology. Those that apologize are hypocrits.

I am so sick of the special interest groups. I used to live in California and moved away because it is the most liberal and wild place in America! Visited San Francisco with my young adult children a couple of years ago. The GAY parade happen to be that same weekend, what a mistake! The most insulting, disgusting behavior I have ever witnessed! We witnessed men masturbating in public and other sexual acts and all were be protected by the police! I could not believe it! We left and I will never return to that once beautiful place!!
Where is this country headed?

Gays are an anomaly, against the natural laws; if all would be gay, you'd only have plants on Earth. They are disgusting parasites that try to convince everybody that they're OK; THEY'RE NOT !!!
