Tyra Banks is looking fit and fabulous, having reportedly dropped over 30 pounds from her highest weight two years ago. The supermodel and TV host was seen flaunting her figure in a New York City photo shoot, showing off her new size 8 frame. Previously, she was wearing size 14-16 at the peak of her weight gain.

Banks has dropped 30 pounds since 2007, when she was at the peak of her weight gain and spoke out to PEOPLE magazine and other publications about how she was comfortable in her own body.

Aside from her new figure, Banks also gave her TV fans another big physical reveal last month when she went wig-and-weave free to show off her natural hairline.

Speaking about her defense of her physique a few years ago, Banks now says: "I might be doing a little TMI (too much information) - I always feel great when I don't have clothes on ... When I told the world to kiss my fat a**, I remained that size for two years. I maintained it with my ice cream and my salad with ranch and dressing and croutons and bacon bits."
Banks has since dropped the weight and also has been on a personal revealing kick. To kick off the new season of her show in September, she ditched her hair enhancements (see: weave) and showed off her natural hairline.
"I've worn weaves and wigs and pieces and clip-ons and clip-outs and clip-downs and around since I was 17, 18, and I wanted to show the real me. I wanted to show the raw me, and I just got out of the shower," Banks told Larry King during an interview.
In 2007 during the peak of criticism about her weight, Banks told PEOPLE: "I get so much mail from young girls who say, 'I look up to you, you're not as skinny as everyone else, I think you're beautiful,' So when they say that my body is 'ugly' and 'disgusting', what does that make those girls feel like?"
Banks went on to say that it's not her weight gain or personal issues that caused her pain, but the sharp words from critics.
"I've made millions of dollars with the body I have, so where's the pain in that? If I was in pain, I would have dieted. The pain is not there – the pain is someone printing a picture of me and saying those (horrible) things."
Tyra is Beautiful No matter what she does,She is quite an exceptionally Pretty woman inside and out.Who could NOT love her ??? Quite a LADY I must say !!!!
So her "so what" shows were lies? Her statement that she "didn't need to lose weight" when pictures of her "booty" were in every tabloid was a lie? Come on Tyra, you can't endorse self love at any size and claim that you are fine the way you are and then lose 30 pounds.
I am glad she lost weight, but what ever happened to "So What?" she sent the message for people to embrace their shapes, with her weight loss, it kind of sends out mixed advices.
A lot of people said that because Tyra lost weight it means that her "self-love" she talks about on her shows was a lie. That doesn't make any sense. If you do love yourself then YOU are the one who gets to make the choices about what weight you are and what is healthy for you. And she is not scary skinny by any means. I think she looks really good and she obviously feels good about it too. I think what she was trying to say that you should love yourself no matter how you are, but if you do want to make healthy changes to your lifestyle then more power to you!
I think Tyra is beautiful whether she is a size 12-14 or a size 8! Her beauty comes from within! She is a wonderful role model for all young girls, black or white! Be the best you that you can be!!
I agree, but I hope she took the weight off for health reasons and not pressure from critics. Otherwise, she played right into their hands and proved to the young girls that it IS all about the body.
I agree too! She is a very lovely woman, so it does NOT matter her size. I thought her curves from before really looked great on her. It is so sad that there is so much pressure on women and girls to be thin. If it didnt matter this article would not have been written in the first place going on about how great she looks NOW! She always looks wonderful. It just feeds right into it again.
You must be feeble minded and mindless also jerome you made a commet about i bet you watch her show all the time most people who make a commet like yours does.
TB has become just another anorexic stick figure. Too bad she fell victim to the 'thin is better' idiots. Tyra WAS beautiful, now she looks like every other laxative addicted model.
I have to disagree with you(Jobelle) about her falling into the "thin is better" trap. Tyra, to me, looks fit and healthy and size 8 is FAR from anorexic. She looked great before as well. There IS a benefit to being a healthy size and weight that far outweighs what the critics say. Having a HEALTHY height to weight ratio staves off many health problems that someone who is overweight may have. So, I can not say that I blame Tyra for working to take off the pounds.
Jobelle I fully agree to what you have just written. She looked MUCH better with a fuller figure. Now not only does she look older, but also her muscles and skin seems to almost sag.
What a silly mommy! Katie Holmes takes Suri into the water in her clothes as the two spend the afternoon at the beach in Miami. More of Today's Hottest Photos

If it's for feeble minds, why bother commenting? Surely you would prefer something more stimulating and relevant? Get over yourself.
