Tracy Morgan Rips on 'SNL' Castmates

Come on Tracy. Tell us how you really feel. '30 Rock' star Tracy Morgan lambastes his old 'Saturday Night Live' castmates in his new book according to the New York Daily News.

"None of the cast I came up with saw this future for me," reveals Morgan in 'I Am the New Black,' out next Tuesday. "All I have to say about that is, where's Chris Kattan now? Where's Cheri Oteri now? That b---- can't even get arrested."

But it wasn't just work at 'SNL.' Morgan goes into erotic detail describing an unofficial road trip to an illegal strip club called the Loft.

"I invited everyone to go down there one week," explains Morgan. "And Tina Fey, Rachel Dratch and a few others came along. I didn't tell any of them what they were in for, so it was all cool when we got there. ... Then these two girls came out onstage and started [engaging in sex acts], and that just shut it down. All the grips and crew guys from 'SNL' were standing around and loving it, but my castmates took one look at that, turned right around and rushed out of there."

Morgan felt misunderstood by the 'SNL' cast. "I had my finger on the pulse of urban comedy, but when I brought my act to 'SNL,' those mother--------- just felt bad for me," confides Morgan. But he does have praise for his '30 Rock' co-star, Tina Fey. "Tina wasn't scared to come into my world and find the funny up in there. She's that kind of cool," he writes.

Morgan also delves into the deeply personal. Coping with diabetes, being estranged from his mother and losing his father to AIDS.

Tracy Morgan, 40, was discovered performing stand-up comedy at Harlem's Apollo Theater and was a member of 'SNL' from 1996 to 2003. He was nominated for an Emmy Award for his work on '30 Rock' in 2009.

Nothing. I don't even know the guy. But I do know that I see a lot of comments on here from people who clearly are resentful of others that went for their dreams and have had success. Jealousy is a b*tch, ain't it?

I think Tracy was as funny on SNL as anyone else - they all had their moments, but mostly the show sucks now anyway and has done for years. It is particularly unclassy to knock the show that gave you a big career boost though, and it never works for your career long term, so Tracy had better watch out - no one wants to work with people who are difficult.

Tracy is funny when he's doing the 30 Rock material written FOR him. Otherwise his stand-up is just another black guy working the tired ghetto and filth bit. Wow...talking about t*ts and f-ing ... wow, a black talking about "growing up poor"...quick, write that down before we forget it while waiting for the NEXT black guy doing the same bit 10 minutes later. Nothing original...no wit....nothing fresh.

Don't you have to be able to read to write a book? Or are there only pictures? Without Tina Fey this guy would be tossing salad at a mens club...Sing sing. I find Morgan to be quite funny, It's not the kind of humor that everyone gets. But most with a non-miopic sense of humor do. Btw, I understand Mr. Morgan perfectly! The people who don't just don't want too.

Umm, someone REALLY has to tell Tracy Morgan the TRUTH, and bring him back to REALITY. a) The man ISN'T funny (at ALL!). you guys don't remember brian fellows' safari planet on snl? that was hilarious. i'm like pee-wee herman white and i think tracy morgan's funny--at least his character on 30 rock is. yeah maybe he doesn't annunciate perfectly, but not everyone can talk like obama. and if you can't even watch 30 rock because of him--or tend to drift off during his segments, why did you bother reading and article about him? i think you all secretly love him, and that scares you. but that's ok, i was like that with bruce willis until i watched the die hard movies. there's help out there, you're not alone.
