David Archuleta's Parents File For Divorce

David Archuleta's parents filed for divorce a month after dad James Jeffrey's arrest at a Utah massage parlor for allegedly soliciting a prostitute, according to divorce papers obtained by RadarOnline.com.

James Jeffrey and Lupe Marie Archuleta blame irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split, and have agreed to share joint custody of their three minor children. They have five in all, including singer David, 18.

The elder Archuleta made himself known during his son's fruitful run on 'American Idol' two years ago.

In the court papers, James Jeffrey requests that Lupe pay him $349 in child support each month, they both waved any alimony requests. They've agreed to sell their house in Murray, Utah and split the profits.

This is actually their second filing for divorce. The first came in 2002, but they backed out right as David was gaining attention for his singing.

James Jeffrey was arrested in January and charged with soliciting a prostitute at a Utah massage parlor. Archuleta's attorney claims that his client was there strictly for a back problem, and that no sexual activity occurred. He pleaded "no contest" to the charges, and resolved the situation by paying a $582 fine.

Why is this no good skeeze getting child support for joint custody? He is dog ugly and the woman he cheated on, his wife, is gorgeous!!!

I read in someone's comments that the alimony payment goes to Lupe and that this was an error in the article. I can't believe what a great child the two of them parented. Its hard to believe that David turned out to be such a sweet person and I'm guessing his siblings are kind as well. In the People's magazine interview with David he made it very clear how dear his mother is to him. I also read that he was thinking of taking time off to help out with his siblings. I can't think that this makes sense since his father is his manager. Therefore, in order for Jeff to pay alimony to Lupe, he has to be receiving his paycheck from David. Not so????

Reading the divorce papers on Radaronline, Jeff is owner of 2 companies in Utah...It goes on to say that He had income hidden from Lupe and he was the one who took care of their finances...

David's personality doesn't show the problems his parents are having. I mean, most children tend to be rebellious when they grow up in such family. God bless him! :)
