He first appeared on 'Jeopardy!' show in 1999, and under the rules, contestants are not permitted to appear again without an invitation. Yet on Monday, Kirby was back on the air. Although he finished third, the show took back his $1,000 consolation prize.

Oddly enough, last month Kirby gave an interview to the Santa Maria Times about his experience as a contestant and acted as though it had been a new experience.
