Kim Kardashian Defends Jessica Simpson Over Football Fat Joke

EXCLUSIVE: Kim Kardashian is sticking up for Jessica Simpson following a NFL commercial that mocked the pop star's weight. Kardashian spoke with PopEater at her own charity event about the controversial ad, telling us exclusively that the NFL and Fox "shouldn't be making fun of Jessica Simpson who has such an amazing body." The NFL Fox Sunday cartoon featured characters of the Dallas Cowboys laughing about Simpson's oft-critiqued figure. The network and Burger King, which sponsored the Oct. 11 cartoon, apologized for the lampoon Wednesday.

"I'm glad they apologized," Kardashian told Popeater from the red carpet of the launch event for Fusionbeauty's Infatuation Lip Gloss. "Fox shouldn't be making fun of Jessica Simpson who has such an amazing body."

During the Fox skit, the Dallas head coach is seen asking Simpson's former boyfriend, Dallas Cowboy quarterback Tony Romo, "Is Jessica around, we sure could use a defensive tackle." While Cowboy star and Romo pal Jason Witten adds in the skit: "Unlike Tony, at least Jessica comes up BIG when it counts."

It's comments like these which make the famously-curvy Kardashian angry.

"She's clearly not overweight and laughing about that gives young girls the wrong message," Kim told PopEater.

Meanwhile, Kardashian has managed to stay under the sniping radar while dating New Orleans Saints running back Reggie Bush. The reality star is even heading to New Orleans this weekend to cheer on her man when the New York Giants take on the Saints -- the all-family trip is part of a Kim birthday weekend extravaganza.

Staying out of the sports-star media attacks is something sister Khloe has to deal with now that she's married to basketball player Lamar Odom.

"Now Khloe's in the same boat," says Kim. "There's no secret to (avoiding the attacks). We are just supportive to our boyfriend and husband. And we just live our lives. That's all you can really do."
