"I am indeed recovering from a bout of the H1N1 flu virus," Rycrof, 26, tells Usmagazine.com. "Like most people who become infected, I thought I had a mild case of the common flu, but when my symptoms exacerbated, I immediately went to the hospital where I was diagnosed with H1N1 and given the proper medications to cure the infection."
The former Dallas Cowboys cheerleader wants people to know "how easy it is to battle this flu when you take the proper steps such as seeking the care of a doctor."
Rycroft appeared on season 13 of 'The Bachelor' and was proposed to by the show's star, Jason Mesnick. But on a wrap-up episode, Mesnick rescinded the proposal and instead chose the runner-up, Molly Malaney.
In May, Rycroft finished third on 'Dancing With the Stars.'

I've been taking Flu Defence to keep me safe from the recent pandemic of swine flu. I'm an Air hostess so protecting myself against such virus is a necessary, since im at such risk. I must say I haven't even had a minor cold since being on this product: http://tr.im/FluDefence
There are no medications to "cure the infection" of swine flu. It is a virus and Tamiflu can lessen the severity. Perhaps that is what she was given. Also if there is a superinfection of bacteria, antibiotics would be used. Perhaps that is also the case here. I hope she is recovering well.
really, thats weird i had it and it only lasted about a week. 2 days i was fatigued and the rest i was fine. i didn't even know i had it until the cdc called me (cause i was one of the first 70 something to get it)
I had the H1N1 as well, I am in my 40's and it took a little over a month to go away. Mine started with a dry cough, then sore throat, fever, congestion and so on. I held onto the dry cough for a long time. Finally went away a couple days ago. (I also ran a low grade fever for about a month as well.)
Glad you are feeling better Melissa. And I'm so happy to see you SHINING in the spotlight. You have a brilliant future ahead. I loved loved loved you on DWTS and the Bachelor (hurts my stomach to think about it - but you are so much better off) and now GMA. I wish you many, many blessings on your engagement and impending marriage.
You people amamze me. How can anyone be jealous of a young lady like Melissa who is making a successful name for herself, you would think people would be proud of her for her accomplishments, but no they find horrible ways to cut her down... She does not deserve all the criticizing you people dish out to her. She is a true lady with true class!
There is no "cure for swine flu" from "treatment." The antiviral drug Tamiflu will lessen the overall course from an average 7 days of illness to 6 . . . versus side effects of nausea and vomiting in some percent (10 to 20), and rare more serious side effects such as bizarre mental disturbances, etc. There is no evidence that such treatment prevents serious consequences of the infection or fatalities from it.
I love all you self proclaimed "experts" telling people what to do. Get MD after your name and then go get paid for giving out correct advice. Also if you are getting your information from morons on the internet, you've got issues.
