Oliver Stone was paid $75K to speak at a conference about the future of the Internet -- the only problem is, he's not a big fan.
While on stage, the famed director bashed the Web repeatedly, Guanabee reports.
"Certainly at the beginning of this thing, the internet was an enemy. It was just a disaster for people like me who are classically trained in film school," Stone said. Watch It Happen
"Now, possibly, and I won't be around, the synthesis will come, maybe the screens will become bigger and it won't be so cold and my eyes won't go crazy," he continued.
"You cannot have your neighbor come over and jump in the pool and have a party and call that a movie. Some kids come over and one of them strangles the other and they call that a f------ movie. It's a joke. It's jerking off in front of the camera and that's what most people are doing and I'm sick of it," Stone eloquently added.
Recently,I found a very interesting place ______M e e t r i ch . C 0 M_____. It is the best club for us seeking the rich singles, beauties and even hot celebs......There are More than 3,200,000 members. including CEOs, professional athletes, doctors, lawyers, investors, entrepreneurs, professional models and cheerleaders, and Hollywood celebrities, just to name a few.I think everyone need to meet some miracle after all the terrible stuff in the news and the economy . You should check it out!
Amen brotha...Soooo much garbage on the net these days. Anyone with a $100 camera and free editing software thinks they can make the next "Citizen Kane." Sorry, but recording your girlfriend doing shots at an after-hours club does not qualify. YouTube is out of control, as is Twitter, Facebook and all other 'social networking' sites, which really are ANTI-SOCIAL outlets that allow and encourage people to sit at their computer posting the minute-to-minute minutia of their empty pathetic lives. If you wanna tape your kids birthday party for friends and family, fine. Just don't delude yourself that anyone else cares or wants to see it. I feel for people in Film School these days.Like print news, music on CD and video rental stores, it will soon no longer exist. With the popularity, ease of use and mass-production of media in the Digital Age, these once-coveted, exclusive and unique forums, as well as the skilled PROFESSIONALS that once filled their ranks, will be left behind in the digital/internet wake
The REALLY sad thing is that people DO want to watch someone jerk off with a camera, or watch some brainless family film themselves in all their dumb glory. The internet is addictive in both a good way and bad way. We all slow down to view an accident, and now the internet provides 24 hour access to mostly staged "accidents." Pass the popcorn.
I was a professional actor during the time when movies were transitioning from clean and inspiring to filthy, poorly done and depressing. That is why I am no longer in the business and why I feel sorry for all who remain in it, many of whom are too young to know what it used to be like.
The film industry is clearly declining and with good reason. A large and growing part of their former audience can no longer stomach the degrading experience of going to a modern movie on Saturday night. We have much better things to do now, and we are willing to allow increasingly decadent Hollywood to rapidly sink below the slimy surface of the entertainment sewer they have chosen to inhabit. Good riddance say I, and may their like never be seen again.
There is also a flip side to this. The accessibility of cheap cameras and software has given some truly talented people opprotunities they otherwise may never have had. Granted, they may be 1 in 10000, but there are good amateur filmmakers out there. But I agree; there are to many people who think they are creating art when it`s pathetic crap. Interestingly, Stone would have loved the freedom of indie net moviemaking in his younger days (not to mention all the conspiracy mongering !). Ironic to see the maker of such ouside-the-box movies(Natural Born Killers could be a spoof of today`s media crush OR a movie MADE by an unknown posted on a website) railing against amateurs without "classical" training.
Having spent many weeks working in two Oliver Stone movies (including JFK here in Dallas), I can assure one and all that Mr. Stone is one of the worst of those who have been destroying the movie industry for a very long time. He is now simply reaping the just rewards of all those years of audience defilement, and so has no valid complaint.
Were we able to rid ourselves of all the people like Oliver Stone and replace them with genuinely talented, rational, morally sound people, the movie industry would rebound tremendously because everyone needs entertainment of excellence. Actually, though it is little known, there are men and women of that description in training now to do that very thing. May their tribe increase and prosper to the benefit of us all.
If ,I where him , I would hate it too.I mean the he makes things up , and wants you to think they are facts .and now the internet can shed light on his way of bending the facts , he's DONE !!!he needs to go work at disney , his fictional films would be more believable.

HARDROCK....It's not about Oliver Stone or truth or dissemination of information, it's about all the hacks around the Globe ruining the art with their nonsensical, 'look-at-me I need attention' poor excuses for content.
He hates is because it allows people to check his facts and find out he is nothing more than a hack who tries to pass off his version of history as fact.
Oliver Stone hates the internet because it is something that HE can't control. His movies are mediocre at best and the only person who thinks they are good is him and/or possibly his mother.
Let's see ... Stone pals around with the Venezula -guy... bashes Bush,Nixon,Reagan ... attacks Viet Nam... attacks the Iraq War ... makes a fortune off the very system he dispises ...
