TLC Files Lawsuit Against Jon Gosselin

You knew this one was coming, it was only a matter of when.

According to RadarOnline.com, TLC announced on Friday that the network is filing a lawsuit against Jon Gosselin. The gossip site even posted the court documents.

The network is suing Gosselin for breach of contract, stemming from his actions of stopping production of 'Jon & Kate Plus 8.'

It's yet another twist in the bitter public brawl of a divorce between Jon and Kate, which resulted in Jon saying he no longer wanted his children filmed, effectively shutting down the show.

TLC says it has been trying privately and patiently for months to get Jon to honour his contract with them and to comply with his obligations relating to public appearances and statements. Those efforts have been unsuccessful, the network contends.

TLC has hired Williams & Connolly, one of the best law firms in the United States.

Williams & Connolly works out of Washington, D.C. and has a reputation for excellence, and what some might call a "scorched earth policy", which basically means every fact about their opponents is uncovered in discovery procedures.

Shame on TLC for wanting to keep this show going. None of these people including the parents is thinking what is best for the children. On this point I agree with Jon. They need to work on their family life out of the view of the cameras.

Sure.....it's OK now that he pulls his kids out of the show...but when the money was rolling in and he was happy with all that TLC gave him....tons and tons of money....that was just fine at the time. I think Jon should GROW UP and face the facts that he is the one at fault here. Poor guy!!! he wanted his life back. When you become a father...your life is with the kids not out in the world partying and having affairs...enjoying the good life. GOOD FOR TLC...SUE HIS ASS!!

Best thing Jon ever did, stopping the filming. These parents need to get real JOBS and let their kids grow up without cameras.

Now that the kids are grown up, and in school all day, the show is over anyway! It is so boring to watch the Mom and kids take expensive planned trips paid for by TLC. Just let it GO TLC.

Well TLC you just lost a viewer and you might want to tell Discovery Communications that I will no longer watch any of their other channels as well. Once again the almighty dollar wins and families lose.

I say Great Job TLC!!! If you make a legal agreement keep it. It is part of what is wrong with America. Honesty and commitment are becoming a rarity in America and the housing crisis backs that. Jon didn't mind the babies being filmed until he decided to leave and couldn't squash Kate on his way out the door. Even went so far as to steal the kids money. Come on Jon. Get Gone.

Hats off to TLC - Jon is either just plain stupid or has been receiving poor legal advice from his lawyers. TLC has tons of good lawyers and money to go after Jon and make him return every nickle he ever received from all his other "exclusives" he gave to Inside Edition and Entertainment Tonight. Jon is going to end up so broke, he will be lucky if he can afford a small room in a flop house somewhere in Penns.!! Hats off to Kate who has played by the rules and has conducted herself like the lady that she is.

Ya know.. good for TLC fighting for their contract. But at the same time with the way Kate would undermine Jon all the time I'm betting he didn't really want the kids being filmed in the first place she probably just didn't let him have the choice or layed a guilt trip on him. So, yes Jon should be getting sued. And Kate should loose the kids to Jon because she obviously doesn't have "their" best interest in mind.

Why is Jon Gosselin concidered a celebrity? They had a Litter of children, he cheated now he is a celebrity????Why? He is not handsome or charming or talented. Sounds and looks to me like he's the only one of the entire bunch that has any ethics, care or concern for the kids and recognizes what a circus and mistake this show was for himself, his marriage and his kids. He deserves a medal. The Network is typical American Corporation - sue the star to keep the ratings going - $ before morals. The biggest jerks here are the no-life losers that religiously watch this pathetic show - just a bunch of man hating idiots. TLC - I won't be watching anything on your network - you're as useless and a bullying as Fox! Bravo for Jon! Too bad he got married to that "B_tch" whose ego went ballistic. No money for the kids, but lots for hair and makeup obviously. Pathetic.

I totally agree with you. It used to be TLC had a little class. It was the "learning" channel wasn't it? Enough of these indulged brats. Off the air and focus on raising your kids yourself like the rest of us.

These kids need more than a million to keep there lives in check- going to university, college etc. I am pro the kate plus eight thing, there's nothing wrong with this- especially with jon splurging away and not thinking about the kids' future - it's jon who is at fault here - i also cant stand to see that there are people out there asking him for autographs and stalking him. his lawyer on insider looked like sleeze too. like attracts like i guess

AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH Now he has done it! I was originally on Jon's side. I really didn't appreciate how Kate treated him on the show. But now I understand why she treated him that way. He's dumb!!! I hate to say it but maybe they should check people's mental capacity before allowing medically assisted multiple births.

I think TLC has to get back to "basics" -- it IS The LEARNING Channel, is it not?? Also, guaranteed if Kate wanted out, this wouldn't be an issue!!!! She's been able to do anything she wants -- Larry King, Today Show, The View...and leaving a trail of tears behind her! Jon does Larry King Live and they threaten to sue him for breach of contract for talking to a TV station other than TLC...what gives with the double standard???

I don't even know who these people are, but I've been reading a bit about them here and there on the internet. I'm inclined to say that this guy Jon is a massive loser. But after reading comments here, I realize that nobody knows the real story and we are not in place to judge. Everyone (except the kids) had a vested interest in doing this show (which I've never seen btw), now it turned sour. Unfortunately some are learning a hard lesson in the public eye. I'd be interested to hear what the same people will have to say in 10 years from now, when hind-sight is 20/20.

After reading many of the article regarding this couple and their impending divorce, and now seeing reports that TLC has filed a law suite against Jon, I personally will no longer be tuning my TV to the TLC channel for any reason. The people who run this network are complete and utter low live obviously only concerned with making their almight dollar anyway that the can, even if it includes exploiting little children.

Personally I believe this show should have been cancelled as soon as Kate and Jon decided to divorce. Kate and Jon can obviously speak for themselves, but those 8 children have absolutely no voice in this matter and what is worse they are having their personal tragedy of their parents splitting not only played out on TV but in the tabuloids as well. I can only imagine the damage being done to them at the hands of not only their Parents but by the insistance of TLC to continue the show.

Shame on all of you!!! The channel has now been blocked on my TV and I hope other will do the same. The only thing I see TLC promoting at this point is gossip for ratings at the expense of children. That to me is just short of criminal. Without ratings they can not survive!!!
