Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom Nail Down Pre-Nup

Prenuptial agreements are such nasty business. Who really wants to iron out the details of 'who gets what' at the beginning of the rest of your life together? Well, when the rest of your life includes a newly-inked $33 million contract like Lamar Odom's with the Lakers and you're marrying a reality television personality like Khloe Kardashian, these things are important. We are happy to report that Khloe and Lamar have finally settled on the terms of their pre-nup.

According to TMZ, Khloe won't be able to touch Odom's money from the Laker contract, but he will contribute generously to a joint account. Additionally, Khloe will get a lump sum payment for each year the pair are married if they do indeed split. Odom also has to pay for a luxe pad for the happy couple. We can't believe we are saying this, but is the prenup fair for...Khloe? Our legal experts say she could be treading on rocky ground.

"If, going forward, Khloe is going to give up rights to his future sports earnings during the marriage, she needs to cut a better deal for herself in the pre-nup," says Stacy Schneider, a criminal defense attorney and author of 'He Had It Coming: How to Outsmart Your Husband and Win Your Divorce.' "Signing off on an agreement where Lamar funds a joint account without specifying exactly how much and how often he will make a contribution is setting this couple up for failure. Any pre-nup that relies on one spouse's generosity to make the other financially secure is a formula for major arguments and big time disappointment down the road."

Schneider adds that if Lamar is indeed buying Khloe a house as part of this marital contract, then she best make sure that property is in her name only.

"That's in case the marriage fails and he tries to make a claim for the house," Schneider says. "She will be in a better position to prove to a judge that it was a gift without his name on it.. Also, the pre-nup should specifically state the house is part of the deal so there can be no questions asked in a divorce court."

Well, nay to those folks who said this quickie marriage was all about the money for young Khloe - or those who dared to label her a gold digger. Radio host and author of 'Been There, Done That, Kept the Jewelry,' Cooper Lawrence says the terms of Khloe and Lamar's contract prove she wasn't just out for cash...because the terms just aren't good enough.

"I do not believe this is about money for her. I think she has money, fame, etc. She is a young girl who is impulsively swept up by her feelings. She lives a life unlike most of us where consequences don't matter as much so behavior like this isn't as shocking if she were, say, your sister. She can live an impulsive life because even worst-case scenario (it doesn't work out) isn't so bad," Lawrence says.

Divorce attorney Sue Moss, a partner at Chemtob, Moss, Forman & Talbert in NYC, says the only good thing that Khloe will gain from a divorce from Odom are some sweet sweeps week ratings. At the end of the day, Moss says her real concern is simple: "The real question is who gets custody of Kim."

Why does he have to "pay" her for every year they are married? That sizes up what she is...She comes from a well off family anyway and no doubt inherited from her late father. My advice guys: DON'T marry a woman who wont sign a prenup, you will regret it.

How can it be a PRE-NUP when they are already married???? It's no longer a pre-nup. The purpose of a PRE-nup is to sign it BEFORE you get married, hence the "pre" in the name.

The marriage isn't finalized until the prenup is signed...they just went through the motions with the ceramony. If she don't sign, then the marriage never happened.

They haven't filed the license yet, so they are not legally married until that is done. So it is still a pre-nup. You can have a ceremony and not be legally married. Look at Jerry Hall and Mick Jagger.

Where is it written that people of different races cannot fall in love and marry and have a happy marriage and a long life together and have children that are accepted and well adjusted? Maybe I am looking thru the rose colored glasses? Am I wrong because I see everyone as equal and not different, no matter what religion or nationality or race they are? Am I wrong because I treat everyone how I want to be treated, with respect?
