Whitney Houston Has 'X Factor' Wardrobe Malfunction

During Saturday night's 'X Factor' performance, Whitney Houston was left red-faced after a strap at the back of her long silver dress snapped open midway through her performance of 'Million Dollar Bill.' She shrugged off the wardrobe malfunction though, joking to host Dermot O'Leary afterwards, "I sang myself out of my clothes." Watch her performance:

This performance marked Houston's first UK TV appearance in 12 years, UK's Daily Mail reports.

Last week, Houston told UK's Daily Mail that her 'X Factor' performance "should be a fun night. I am a fan of Simon Cowell's and look forward to meeting him," she said.

Houston's comeback has been mostly successful, at least when it comes to record sales. Whitney's 'I Look to You' debuted at number one on the Billboard charts, selling more than 300,000 copies in its first week of avalaibility. 'Look' is Houston's first studio album in eight years, and also her first since her rapid slide into drugs and a public split from ex-husband Bobby Brown.

Houston also hit a hurdle in her comeback when her big coming out performance on 'Good Morning America' was marred by poor sound and cracking vocals from the songstress. She apologized for the performance, saying that because of her publicity tour and appearance on 'Oprah,' she'd "been talking for so long. ... I talked so much, my voice ... I shouldn't be talking. I should be singing."

She rocked it. This is such a great, old-school song. Few artists sing anymore, thank god we have Whitney (listen up Mariah Scarey, Rihanna...). She looks great! If you wanna see 'fat' by all means look at any of Mariah Scarey's performances from her forgettable new CD!!!

no big deal about the wardrobe malfunction...but what has happened to her beautiful voice. it is not there anymore and this song was terrible.

What's lame about thye whole performance is how much she depends on the back-up singers and "dancers" to get her through the number. She didn't have to do much else other than hike up that dress that was way too long in the first place. Why does every performer these days think that they have to have "dancers" jumping around all over the stage? The lame "choreography" totally distracts from the performer/perfomance. At her age she should know better.

Hey Whitney!! Here's a note, 'cause your manager & stage director didn't give you any: don't try to sing high. You, so very clearly, will be off pitch, dis-engaged from your audience, and - perhaps worst of all- lose/lost your fan base. Keep going back - it works if YOU work it!

Wow, I know... she did appear a little baked, didn't she? Well, at least she wasn't completely out of it, I guess....I did love the way she initially appears to be like, "WTF?!" (long shot), shrugs, then seems worried for a sec the thing may not actually stay on, but then even tries to do a mini-version of the choreography! "I sang myself out of my clothes!" Great line...why didn't the daft host even pick up on that? She was trying to have fun with it. But ugghh..the song! Terrible, almost seems mean for Clive Davis to make her use a cheap throwaway like that; and it's in such a low key, with none of her old flair... oh well, at least she's back...sort of... ;D
