Whitney Houston Has 'X Factor' Wardrobe Malfunction

During Saturday night's 'X Factor' performance, Whitney Houston was left red-faced after a strap at the back of her long silver dress snapped open midway through her performance of 'Million Dollar Bill.' She shrugged off the wardrobe malfunction though, joking to host Dermot O'Leary afterwards, "I sang myself out of my clothes." Watch her performance:

This performance marked Houston's first UK TV appearance in 12 years, UK's Daily Mail reports.

Last week, Houston told UK's Daily Mail that her 'X Factor' performance "should be a fun night. I am a fan of Simon Cowell's and look forward to meeting him," she said.

Houston's comeback has been mostly successful, at least when it comes to record sales. Whitney's 'I Look to You' debuted at number one on the Billboard charts, selling more than 300,000 copies in its first week of avalaibility. 'Look' is Houston's first studio album in eight years, and also her first since her rapid slide into drugs and a public split from ex-husband Bobby Brown.

Houston also hit a hurdle in her comeback when her big coming out performance on 'Good Morning America' was marred by poor sound and cracking vocals from the songstress. She apologized for the performance, saying that because of her publicity tour and appearance on 'Oprah,' she'd "been talking for so long. ... I talked so much, my voice ... I shouldn't be talking. I should be singing."

You go Whitney. Congrats on your comeback. You look great and I love this song. Malfunctions happen all the time, a true performer continues like she did. Love you Whitney let the HATERS roll off of your back!!!!

Give the girl a break!! She handled the mishap like a pro, did not stop singing or show anything other than slight surprise when it happened, and continued her performance with great dignity.... Yes, Whitney's had some rough years, her voice and body are showing the normal signs of aging, and her interaction with the MC was tempered by the distraction of her embarrassment over the dress strap breaking, but her talent and classiness shone through!! You go, girl!!

She looks great. Certainly not overweight as a few have commented. Yeah her voice is not what it use to be, but she still sounds better live than many of today's "stars" who couldn't carry a tune in a bucket. I welcome her back and wish her the very best.

The people here calling her fat have surely got to be kidding.
However, she didn't used to need 20 people on stage with her to cover up weaknesses in her voice. She could carry a song all by herself. Sad that those days are over.

She looks like wig head Karen Brown of Yeadon, and can't sing anymore, drugs stole her voice and her looks. A has been.

I will say this..so many of these "incedents" are made up now to get public interest...like marie osmond feinting, but looking down to make sure she doesn't hurt herself...if you slow play this whitney almost makes the thing pop out, pulling it around, she coulda left it alone and nobody woulda noticed.

i see three things wrong here.the straps were too tight around her,her voice gave out in alot of notes and she looked and sounded high as a kite

Whitney is great. The classic professional. I saw her in Dallas about 20 years ago. She had a bug fly up the slit in her gown. She tried a couple of time to sort of get it out, but she never quit singing! Amazing.

Wow, she was OK, but not like the old Whitney. I guess she just needs a bit of practice, she was surely out of breath and seemed to struggle with the song a bit, but then life is a struggle. If nothing else I hope she stays clean. To call her fat is ridiculous! Pretty sure most of those who think so could stand to lose weight themselves.

i hate to say this but i think that her drug problems are far from over.i know what a high person looks like and i'm sorry to say this but she was higher than a kite.she couldn't look the host in the eye not to mention that her eyes looked like they were pretty much shut and her speech was not that good either.she definitely wasn't with it

I always liked her, the fact she can sing but she has zero rhythm. She stomps around on stage like Ozzie, can't even walk with the beat. Nice to see even a black girl can have white men's boogie, and still sing for living.
