In his new tell-all, 'My Life Outside the Ring,' Hulk Hogan admits he hit rock bottom after his divorce from ex-wife Linda Hogan and came "damn close" to killing himself after downing a cocktail of Xanax and rum (via NY Daily News.) The former wrestler recalls reaching for a gun and putting his finger on the trigger.
Fortunately, his 'Gladiators' co-star Laila Ali, who noticed that Hogan was looking distracted earlier at work, gave him a late night call and prevented him from ending his life, Hogan recalls in the book. See the book's other juicy details >>
He accuses his wife's 19-year-old boyfriend for the issues he faced after the divorce. "Hell, [Linda's] spending time with a 19-year-old boyfriend - in the house that I pay for," he wrote. He admits that a combination of "going to [a] strip club, drinking, getting all that attention from girls" and coming back to an empty home that night in December 2007 led to his breaking point.
Other juicy tidbits in the book include his allegations that Linda was an abusive alcoholic. "In public, we were all having the time of our lives, but that public image only further masked the problems that were growing behind the scenes... There were plenty of times when Linda would lose it, but no one wanted to see that kind of ugliness on TV," he wrote.
Hogan's bank account also took a hit after his July 2009 divorce settlement with Linda, who walked away with a promise of $40,000 a month. He recalls: "I practically begged her, 'Please, don't file. Our son's just had this accident - if we do this now, it'll make us look like the Britney Spears family. Please, don't file for divorce,'" he added.

I think it goes like this "as ye sow so shall ye reap" think about that Hulkster. One thing else, next time you are invited to a suwary, turn them down and go visit that young Marine your son hospitalized for the rest of his life. Your fan base will thank you
I can't help but think that looking like the Spears family would be a step up for these guys. Sorry, not a nice thing to say but this guy is very self-serving.
I can see where you are coming from but you must understand that the victim in this incident had every opportunity NOT to get into the vehicle with Nick. It was his conscious decision to do so and he and his family must take some part of the blame for his being injured. Perhaps his parents should have told him to NEVER get into the vehicle with a drunk. Or was he drinking also? All parents involved should shoulder some of the blame and both kids too. That's the problem these days, no one wants to take their share of the blame. Time for all to GROW UP.
ALOT OF PEOPLE ARE JUST JEALOUS OF THE HULKS FAME. iNCLUDING YOU i KNOW A GUY PERSONALY WHO GREW UP WITH HIM BEFORE THE HULK BECAME FAMOUS WHY BE HAPPY ABOUT OTHERS MISFORTUNES?
Uh Hulk, I don't think Britney has actually killed anyone. It would be good for your family to look like hers, they can be fixed. Nothing can bring back the young man who was killed.
To asarc46- It seems the family of the injured guy is sort of stuck living with the consequences for the rest of their lives as they care for their disabled son. Hulk (and his dysfunctional family) keep on seeking fame and fortune. Hardly seems fair.
Oh please. That 'Brain Damaged' boy was NOT a boy, he was a man over 21 and stupid enough not to put a seatbelt on. BUT that is neither here nor there. He was an ADULT. HE knew everyone was drinking. He got into the car and did not buckle up. BLAME on both sides.
Hulkster! Pull you head out of your ass. Do you have any idea how many kids look up to you (although I sometimes wonder why). But they do. Statements like this are damaging. NOT TO YOU. But to those who look up to you. Own up to your responsibilities. Your kid screwed up. Help the family already and quit acting like such a putz.
What a silly mommy! Katie Holmes takes Suri into the water in her clothes as the two spend the afternoon at the beach in Miami. More of Today's Hottest Photos

Right on.
Why are you so full of hate, you ass? He was famous before this dumbass got brain-damaged. How is it Hogan's fault, exactly?
I'm Hugh Jass, and I approve this message.
