In his new tell-all, 'My Life Outside the Ring,' Hulk Hogan admits he hit rock bottom after his divorce from ex-wife Linda Hogan and came "damn close" to killing himself after downing a cocktail of Xanax and rum (via NY Daily News.) The former wrestler recalls reaching for a gun and putting his finger on the trigger. Fortunately, his 'Gladiators' co-star Laila Ali, who noticed that Hogan was looking distracted earlier at work, gave him a late night call and prevented him from ending his life, Hogan recalls in the book. The "victim" was actually the legal adult in the situation, and endorsed underaged drunk driving with his actions; by willingly jumping in the car with a drunk kid. Perhaps he was already brain-damaged before he entrusted his life to a spoiled, drunk rich kid, no? Most intelligent adults would not let a hammered, punk, little kid drive them around... no matter how sloshed they themselves were. Call the police instead of jumping in the car jackass! At the very least, call a taxi. What the hell ever happened to personal responsibility?

It's easy to point fingers and bash Mr. Hogan. Yes, he has clearly made some mistakes...as we all have. Should we all line up and kick him while he's down?
I'm not excusing what he did but Nick is responsible for what happened in that accident. He's old enough to know that all of the decisions he made that day were wrong. Hogan should not have supplied him alcohol but I know Nick would have found a way to get it anyway. Where there's a will there's a way. The guy he was with was old enough to buy liqour and he was drinking too. You can't blame a father, mother, or anyone else. Nick drove drunk. Nick crashed. It's Nick's fault. He should shoulder all the repsonsibility. Can you blame the bar if someone leaves hammered and crashes? In our lawsuit happy country people have tried. In the end you make your own choices. Nobody put a gun to Nick's head and said 'Drink up and then drive." Nobody forced his friend to get into the car with a drunk driver. Is it tragic? Absolutley. I've been hit by a drunk driver. Luckily I was not seriously injured. After the crash I did not go looking for his parents. I ran over to his car ready to pummel him and would have if he had been conscious. I went to court for his appearance and listened as the judge sentenced him to a year in jail. At no point during the proceedings did anyone mention his parents or anyone else. His actions caused the accident. He was 17 at the time. He illegally obtained the alcohol. He got drunk. He passed out and hit me head-on. It's his fault. It's called personal responsibility. You own your actions. Nobody else. People need to stop making excuses and diverting blame. If people want to be angry at someone it should be Nick. He ruined his friends life.

If this was anybody else BUT a celebrity we would never have heard about this and it would have went away like life does. Nick served his time and so called "justice has been served". Now he has to live with what has happened for the rest of his life. IF his father wasn't HULK HOGAN then we would have never have heard of him. Now for the injured man--yep 21--his family is damaged as well. Wasn't his father just arrested for trying to pay a hitman to kill his wife?? YEah great family values there!!!
Oh yeah I grew up watching HULK HOGAN. What he does is entertain for a living. His whore of a wife has taken advantage of HIM and his celebrity status. I watched the TV show and I would have left HER years ago if I was him.

Terry has alot of pressure on him to be "HULK" and at the same time dealing with the mental anguish of his ex doing a 19 year old turd that is as useless as any beach bum with no job. He has handled this very well considering all that his son has put him through. Keep pushing along Terry.....you have real friends in Tampa Bay and you know it.

Get off The Hulksters Back already. THe friend of Nicks was old enough to make a conscious decision to either get into the car or not. He choose to get into the car and take the responsibility of his actions. But somehow, Hulkster is being blamed for all this even though he was not driving. Blame the real person here, the friend who got into the car on his own. He was not forced- or kidnapped- he made a bad decision that cost him. I agree also that Nick made a bad decision that cost him as well as his friend. But The Hulkster is not to blame here. And don't sit behind a screenname and blast insults at everyone saying how The Hulkster should have controlled his kids more. Cause I can bet the same ones who are throwing stones at hulk on here are the same ones you find everyday leaving their kids hang out with friends who may be drinking and driving, BUT the parents will never know until it is too late. No Teenager is perfect or innocent even though most parents want to think so. Think back when you were a kid, didn't you do things your parents would not approve of? Going to lookout point-going to the late night parties- sneaking out to get a piece of ASS...ALl you can do is hope you have tutored your child in the many dangers that lurk out there and hope they listen and listen at the right times when it is crucial they do so....

You are an idiot!!! It is not against the law for a parent of a child to allow, or provide alcohol for THEIR child, under their own roof....you can not provide alcohol for another child, nor can you allow them to leave with it.....if you allow them to leave your house still under the influence then yes you are liable....should that send you to suicide??? I should think not!!!! I think idiot minded people like yourself should commit suicide, or just end up in the wrong place at the wrong time!

When Laila Ali noticed that 'The Hulkster' was looking distracted and most likely different in his personality, her foresight in taking a chance in giving a damn, as well as caring about a friend by simply making a phone call is something which doesn't happen often enough - no less SOON enough in so many cases. Hulk, though much may be lost right now, YOU are not and I am ever so glad that you could finally get it off your chest through a book which may help others.
