Rosie O'Donnell and Kelli Carpenter are having problems. Big ones. In a chat with USA Today on Tuesday, the former daytime TV host broke down in tears while discussing her longtime partner, whom she shares four kids with. "We're a family. We will remain a family forever. And we are working on our issues," she coyly answered to questions on whether she and Carpenter had split.
O'Donnell herself has been fueling the breakup reports with answers to fan questions on her blog. She has recently called marriage "very very very hard" and seemed genuinely unaware that Carpenter had a Facebook account.
The couple married in San Francisco in 2004 have three adopted children (Parker, 14, Chelsea, 12, and Blake, 9) as well 6-year-old Vivienne, whom Carpenter carried.
"They're adorable and wonderful and they are by far a priority," O'Donnell said with tears welling. "Kelli and I love each other very much and we are working on our issues. Those are the only words I am ever going to say. Ever. And that is something that has been agreed upon by all parties."
The National Enquirer reported in August that Carpenter had moved out their home and into Manhattan.
O'Donnell may not be ready to disclose the likely breakup, but saying "We will both continue to parent them and we're friendly and everything's all right" does not sound like an endorsement of a strong relationship.
Avril Lavigne and Deryck Whibley Divorcing
After announcing their split in September, Lavigne has officially filed for divorce to end her three year marriage to the Sum 41 rocker.
I have been morbidly wondering if gay marital partners, having surmounted the wedding issue, will go through legal divorces, alimony, custodial arrangements, etc., since that is sadly part of the package.
I have been wondering that too.....wil the same joint custody, alimony and all of the other hooks out there for the hetro couples still apply to the homo couples???????
Marriage is heaven and divorce is pure hell......I certainly hope that Stinkies wife gets all of the perks and bennies that the hetro spouses do when calling it quits.......After all they wanted to have free and equal marriage opportunities....
I thought homo marriage was a perfect liberal utopia. Divorce is not a part of the liberals' imaginary ideal world. Although, divorce is a part of reality, so I don't know how liberals reconcile their many utopian fantasies with reality. That is the main problem with liberalism.
Dave, I just read all of your postings and you sure do have a lot of time to say NASTY things about everyone and everything. I would be embarrassed since you have so much time to post such hate. Dave you seem like a very unhappy guy. I feel sorry for people who are around you, perhaps you are so unhappy because you don't have any friends. What a sad and pathetic person you are.
Dave, you are on the mark! Brady just jumps to his own conclussions to justify his insecurity and uncertainty of life. It is easy for people to bash someone with standards than to carry the burden of standards themself! No, HIV/AIDS is not secluded to homosexuallity. Thanks to the blood bank contamination and other casualties of the war on HIV, no one should blame the cause, because honestly, the disease, and death do not discriminate! Just because CA's divorce rate is so high doesn't mean marriage is a bad or failed institution. As a society, we are taught to have no standards, no boundaries, no accountability, no loyalty, and chase what feels good! If anyone is keeping the stats on gay and lesbian divorce, I think it would demonstrate a higher divorce rate in the long run than the non gay pro gay marriage activists really could for see.
One poster claims that "that is love and life in the lesbian world! Unbelievable, heteros don't break up or get divorced. How stupid can stupid be? I would think if records were kept on hetero divorces and gay divorces, the heteros would win, hands down. Rosie will solve this problem and she will make the right decisions, especially ones that will keep her kids happy. Love ya Ro!
The heterosexual divorce rate is not 50% and it would be beside the point anyway. Who could imagine leaving such a nice person as Rosie O'Donell? The miracle is that Carpenter stayed with her this long. O'Donell is mean and she lies.
you hypocrite! Gays do not have special rights. all the straight people voted in california that gays can't be legally married. Has anyone ever asked if straights have the right to legally be married? If that's special rights...it sure does't pay to be special.
I don't know what to say in this matter..it seems no matter what sexual orientation of the marriage..people are finding it hard to stay together these days!We live in a generation that seems to be mostly selfish for the most part. ME,ME,ME!!!Being married to one of the most selfish people on earth...and I being the complete opposite..it is draining in a marriage. They always say..that a marriage is a give and take situation..well...when you are doing all of the giving...you want out!I am sure Rosie is use to having things go her way..being the one with most of the money..(I speculate)so she will want things to mostly go her way. I feel for all of those kids..Carpenter moved out..the kids are probably with Rosie..it sounds like a nightmare! Maybe they will use the same lawyers as the Gosselins!
What a silly mommy! Katie Holmes takes Suri into the water in her clothes as the two spend the afternoon at the beach in Miami. More of Today's Hottest Photos

My question is what took this woman so long to break off with Rosie. She deserves a award for staying with her so long.
