Rosie O'Donnell and Kelli Carpenter Split?

Rosie O'Donnell and Kelli Carpenter are having problems. Big ones. In a chat with USA Today on Tuesday, the former daytime TV host broke down in tears while discussing her longtime partner, whom she shares four kids with. "We're a family. We will remain a family forever. And we are working on our issues," she coyly answered to questions on whether she and Carpenter had split.

O'Donnell herself has been fueling the breakup reports with answers to fan questions on her blog. She has recently called marriage "very very very hard" and seemed genuinely unaware that Carpenter had a Facebook account.

The couple married in San Francisco in 2004 have three adopted children (Parker, 14, Chelsea, 12, and Blake, 9) as well 6-year-old Vivienne, whom Carpenter carried.

"They're adorable and wonderful and they are by far a priority," O'Donnell said with tears welling. "Kelli and I love each other very much and we are working on our issues. Those are the only words I am ever going to say. Ever. And that is something that has been agreed upon by all parties."

The National Enquirer reported in August that Carpenter had moved out their home and into Manhattan.

O'Donnell may not be ready to disclose the likely breakup, but saying "We will both continue to parent them and we're friendly and everything's all right" does not sound like an endorsement of a strong relationship.

What are the legalities regarding the breakup of a marriage involving a gay couple? If they went through a marriage ceremoney, is it as legally binding as a heterosexual couple's marriage? Would it be necessary for Rosie O'Donnell and her spouse Kelli Carpenter to go through divorce proceedings in order to officially sever their marriaage, if it comes to that? I'm just asking, because I've never seen the issue discussed in the media. I'm just curious.

I think I remember seeing Rosie run her mouth when she got married. She was ranting about how great gay marriage was. Well, let's see how she likes gay divorce. Does this mean that Rosie's wife will take half? I'm trying hard not to laugh.

Gay or not, Rosie is a crass and rude person both onstage and off. She has been rude and snobbish to gay people that have paid to see her shows in popular gay destinations (like Ptown), when they have simply tried to be friendly and supportive to her. She asked, "WHO they were (my friends), and made them feel just awful. Therefore, I am sure that she is definitely very difficult to live with. Her wife can do better, and money isn't the root of happiness. Most people that are well-off use money to control or manipulate others, which is wrong and demeaning. I'd rather be comfortable and happy in my life with a loving partner and family.

I have a brother who anguished and worked through accepting his homosexuality and coming to grips with he would not raise a child/ren like the rest of us 4 brothers. I have counselled men (and women) with callouses on their knees, who have tried to unsuccessfully "pray" away their sexual orientations.How about being less judgmental?

I hear a lot of people talking about how sick it is to think about gay people having sex and their lifestyles.

What makes me really sick is to think about obese people having sex. Or just being nude, or just being around. It makes me uncomfortable and it makes me feel bad. I guess it causes me anguish to think that obesity could happen to anyone if you just let yourself go and lose control. Obesity could happen to anyone and it scares me. I don't want to sit next to fat people or touch them. DOn't want to eat near them, but less think one second about what they do in the bedroom........

I guess I can sympathize with the homophobes out there and what they feel when they think about gays, only I feel it when I think about obese people....
