Robin Wright Penn Can't Wait to Get Divorced

Robin Wright Penn thinks her career will benefit from her impending divorce from Sean Penn.

The 'Forrest Gump' actress – who filed for divorce from the Oscar-winning actor in August citing "irreconcilable differences" – is keen to focus on acting now she is single and the couple's children, Dylan, 18, and 16-year-old Hopper, are older.

She told Redbook magazine: "I turned down so many films because I wanted to be a mom that they stopped offering. I gave up a lot for my kids, but I didn't give up...I'm very content with the way it all turned out."

"I have no regrets for my life that has been lived. New beginnings, definitely. For me, my career too. My kids are older now."

Robin, 43, also spoke about her anger over her marriage split becoming public news.

She said: "It never feels good. Yes, it's divorce; it's a given that it will be public. But...it's so disrespectful. It's like, 'You're an actress, you owe us this?' 'F--- you' is what I say."

In April, Sean filed for separation from Robin but a month later asked California's Marin County Superior Court to dismiss the case claiming it was an "arrogant mistake".

It was not the first time the couple had announced they were divorcing only to change their minds.

Sean, 49, first filed for divorce in December 2007, but his petition was dismissed. Three days later Robin filed her own paperwork.

However, in April 2008, they made a request to have their divorce petition dismissed as they wanted to give their relationship another chance.

Hmmm, let's see, Congress is full of Democrats who have a 29% approval rating, can't blame that on Republicans, we're not the majority anymore remember? The President has a dismal approval rating for his obvious lack of experience and inability to make decisions without the aid of his army of czars and advisors, so I guess we'll see what 2012 brings. "Change" I hope.

yes, i agree..a public divorceis sooo disrespectful that the only way to deal wirth it is to GIVE A FREAKING INTERVIEW...lolololololololololololol and yes you gave up sooo much for your kids,hey hollywood chipee..single mums that work 12 hour shifts 4 nights week just to pay bills and may get to see there kids an hour a day but do anything to keep their famileis together....chipee thats someone that has given up a lot just to be with thier kids...did you................

i will give her credit..she knows how to utilize free press and let any directors know....im available........i had to whine in public bout the media and what i gave uo to raise my kids and use the F word..but i havnt done any real work since RUN FORRESST RUN and now i wont have my famous husband pitching for her so she needs the MEDIA--go figure....once a broad always a BROAD......gives us that try to get by with a bit of class..a bad taste

Sean and Robin are both enormously talented actors. I'm sorry to hear they couldn't make it work even though they tried many times, but happy to hear she'll be returning to the big screen. Her performance as Jenny in 'Forest Gump' was FABULOUS! I wish them both well.
