Andrew Lloyd Webber Has Cancer

Musical master Andrew Lloyd Webber has been diagnosed with prostate cancer, but luckily it was caught "in its very early stages," a spokesman disclosed in a statement.

"Andrew is now undergoing treatment and expects to be fully back at work before the end of the year," it said.

Lloyd Webber, 61, is currently working on a sequel for 'Phantom of the Opera' called 'Lover Never Dies.' It is expected to make its Broadway debut next November. He is also set to judge a BBC talent show next year.

The famed composer's other musicals include 'Evita,' 'Cats,' 'Jesus Christ Superstar' and 'Starlight Express.'

Your comnment is admirable. I can be qualified as a liberal in my support for gay marriage and progressive Christianity as well as voting Democratic since Nixon's second term. You and I could clearly have a spirited discussion without derision or venom and both perhaps learn something in the process. I wish these AOL pages had more voices like yours.

I loved Evita, and CATS - I saw them both on Broadway as a teen. I hope he recovers fully, and reconnects with his children... life is too precious to throw away.

And let me guess you must be one of those god fearing conservatives. Well i hope you realize jesus was a liberal and i hope you realize God can see through your veil of hate. why does a persons political affiliation matter we're all people and sould respect one another for that reason alone. The first musical I ever saw was an off broadway production of 'Jesus Christ Superstar'. I loved the music then and I love it now. His music speaks to your heart. A true talent. Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

It is true that many creative artists do tend to be rather liberal in their thinking; however, this article is about Webber's physical condition and what he intends to be able to still accomplish with his musical ability (once the cancer is treated). None of that has anything to do with the man's political leanings.
The very name of the instigating poster suggests that he is striving for attention. To lambast him with extremely harsh or vulgar comments feeds his need and lowers the responder down to an equal level. When answering, it might be worthwhile to remember to by all means say what you want to say, but say it with dignity! ;)

The CDC says that aggressively treating early prostate cancer is not only a waste of money, it subjects the person to a whole litany of possible side affects like: sexual problems, incontinence, and lots of pain. hmmm

IDEA. If eveyone ignores the morons, idiots and imbeciles that make rude remarks they won't feel like the center of attention and move on to more entertaining areas of the internet. (I can't even imagine the type of site that would attract those with the obviously stunted developement) Just a suggestion people. The music of ALW is beyond genius. He will be respected and admired by talented people well into the next century and beyond. Classical and classy. Glad they caught his cancer early. Hopefully he has about 20 more masterpieces already working through his creative genius.
