It is about time that someone known denounces Scientology
Reply
I don't know much about scientology but it seems to me it it has all the trappings of a cult It never ceases to amaze me how intelligent people believe such nonsense
Reply
would an intelligent person assume that an actor or
celebrity is intelligent? Its obvious there is no
relationship.
The LORD says respect your parents, and forgivness. This so called church is a cult, who strives to controll their congrgation.

IT is nice that you guys are bigots towards something you know nothing about!!Would you say the same things about Islamists hmm i think not even though it preaches all kinds of Hate and Attacks on other.I woud bet you would much sooner Attack Christians as they are the Favorite to be attacked by the Far Left Fringe like you guys. Quite teing of your bigotry and intollerance. I see the same thing as cowards always attack Tom Cruise and John Travolta but because of his color they never attack will Smith who is just as big a Scientologist as the others. That again is typical of the Far LEft Fringe that has an Iron Grip around the Demoncraptic Party. I don't hate them as you guys do .I am open minded and tolerant, something the left knows nothing about but claim to be all about. Hypocrisy at it's finest!!!This guy clearly had a Political Agenda..No one attacked or spewed anti Gay Anything..They just agrred with Prop. 8 ..that doesnt mean you Hate anyone! Maybe Prop. 8 Supporters Hate single people so they feel it is OK to Discriminate against them by giving more rights to Couples that are Gay. Seems to be pretty bigoted to me!! Over 50% of the people in the country are single and they want to Discriminate against them all and make them Secon Class Citizens by giving even another group of people more rights then they allow the single people. How Sad they are such Bigots!!!!!

You are a true idiot.
You say things like "IT is nice that you guys are bigots towards something you know nothing about!!Would you say the same things about Islamists hmm i think not even though it preaches all kinds of Hate and Attacks on other" First Islam is the religion, "Islamists" ( if thats even a word) are people. Also Islam does not preach hate, why do you spout off on things you know nothing about.
"Attack Christians as they are the Favorite to be attacked by the Far Left Fringe like you guys. Quite teing of your bigotry and intollerance. " You seem to me to be the person with intolerance and ignorance, this sentence does not even make sense. Actually the far left usually goes after stupidity and bigotry when it prevents people from enjoying the same rights as the ignorant and stupid like you.
"I see the same thing as cowards always attack Tom Cruise and John Travolta but because of his color they never attack will Smith who is just as big a Scientologist as the others." People do not "attack" Will Smith because he does not go out and prosthetize his religion. I have never heard him say once that he is a Scientologist.
"That again is typical of the Far LEft Fringe that has an Iron Grip around the Demoncraptic Party. I don't hate them as you guys do .I am open minded and tolerant, something the left knows nothing about but claim to be all about. Hypocrisy at it's finest!!!" This does not sound like an open minded statement to me.
"No one attacked or spewed anti Gay Anything..They just agrred with Prop. 8 ..that doesnt mean you Hate anyone! Maybe Prop. 8 Supporters Hate single people so they feel it is OK to Discriminate against them by giving more rights to Couples that are Gay." This does not even make sense. The Church of Scientology had it's parishoners pay millions of dollars to prevent Prop 8 from being defeated. They were not giving rights to
"gays", they were taking them away.
" Over 50% of the people in the country are single"
Number of unmarried and single Americans in 2005. This group comprised 41 percent of all U.S. residents age 18 and older. Again your wrong.
In conclusion, it seems you are the racist ignorant homophobe with no real information. Why are you against this guy who is actually doing the right thing. And in this country you have the right to be ignorant and stupid, but that doesn't mean everyone else does not have the right to call you on it everytime. Proposition 8 takes away human rights from a group of people. This is intolerable, and will be corrected by a vote of the American People, however, your ignorance can only be corrected by yourself. I do not have such high hopes for that
Most people do not realize that L Ron Hubbard wrote a book that started the Scientology church on a bet. Show how stupid people ca be to follow a made up religion from a science fiction writer. Or maybe they aren't because some one is making a hell of a lot of money from the fools that have joined including Will Smith, Travolta , ect. ect, ect. Tom Cruise is the biggest jack ass of them all...
I can only speak for myself...But I am sure I speak for multitudes more. I am not a bigot. I do not care what you believe. If you believe in XENU and space alien parasites, knock yourself out. Enjoy!
What I do care about is the abuses of this cult. I also care about the policy of disconnection. A policy sited and confirmed by a former "Church" member. I am also concerned with the FAIR GAME policy that compels cult members to "Discredit or other wise destroy" people who dare challenge this evil cult.
First, if you want to be taken seriously, bone-up on your spelling and grammer. It was hard to understand what you were trying to say - never mind your logic! Second, what convuluted thinking! Third, "Silence Deems Approval!" This is not opinion, but Legal fact. IOW, by Scientolodgy (sp?) remaining silent on this issue, they are, by their silence, supporting said issue. They, whom are always claiming discimination, are now practicing it! Just like some black-folk who don't approve of "gays" and "gay marriage" - How HYPOCRITICAL! Lastly, your diatribe meandered into an almost conspiracy-rant about this must mean this - that must mean that . . . Sometimes things just mean what they mean! As for Hagis, good for him and by virtue of what he did, good for others involved that may now re-think their involvement in this, in my opinion, CULT. What else would you call a organization that tells Members to stop contact with family, one of the "Hallmarks" of a CULT!
Yes, I would say the same thing about Islam, and any other religion that encouraged hatred, killing, disassociation from family, etc...pull your head out and think for yourself.
An alien from a science fiction novel is not to be your supreme leader. Good lord, the ignorance is astounding! And, if you choose to place your faith and belief in a science fiction novel writer's thoughts...good for you, that's your choice. Just don't blather on and on to me about it, moron. I don't give a rat's behind!

Clint Eastwood directed Million Dollar Baby not Paul Haggis.

"The church's refusal to denounce the actions of these bigots, hypocrites and homophobes is cowardly. I can think of no other word. Silence is consent, Tommy. I refuse to consent."
Mr. Haggis, YOU are the hypocrite and the bigot. True, Scientology is a false religion but to bail on it because of their distaste of homosexuality (in line with the vast majority of Americans) is simply dorky.

The story gave some false facts: Paul Haggis didn't direct MILLION DOLLAR BABY, Clint Eastwood did. Haggis did write the screen play and produced the movie. Paul Haggis was the director on the movie CRASH.

I have no use for Scientology, but Prop 8 IS NOT GAY-BASHING.

If there WERE such a thing as Satan (there isn't) THIS would be the greatest deception ever. Create a means (religion) to control the masses for power and money, deceiving them by promising a 'pie in the sky' that they must endure any suffering to enjoy. Create a myth that the eating of the 'tree of knowledge' is a SIN. Etcetera, and so forth...
Scientology is a cult, it shows you how gullable even these so called Stars are, joining in a cult,so they are closer to their God. Idols who idolize and support a cult, what we should do is, do not go to see their movies. Because seen their movies means that we all support Scientology, they give the money to that cult and this cult is about hatred and not about love.

My understanding is that the Church itself does not involve itself in political affairs. The members of the church, like any other religion, are free to support or disagree with legislation as they choose. To sever ties with your church because of the views of its members is certainly his right. Anything disclosed during auditing remians confidential, just like a confession to a priest so I'm not sure why he is worried about that.
Disconnection from family members is not encouraged by the church. However, if someone, including family members, becomes antagonistic towards you, it makes sense to steer clear of them.
There are many avenues to settle disagreements with the church. Spouting off on your blog to be picked up by the media is not one of them. Not sure why he chose this route.
Scientology is not "celebrity-riddled". There are members who are celebrities, for sure, but there are plenty who are not. We quietly go about our business like most folks seeking to live productive, peaceful lives.

Cindi, you have got to be kidding me. Haggis explained very clearly in his letter how the "church" exposed the secrets of one of the former members speaking out in their magazine. That's right, the Church of Scientology published a magazine in which they revealed these supposedly protected secrets. And they sent that magazine to Scientologists the world around and the entire population of Clearwater Florida. How can you continue to lie about the confidentiality of parishioners confessions when you've seen them printed for all the world to see, by the Church itself no less?
Once again, the Rainbow Flag means nothing. If you want me to accept you for who you are, accept me for who I am. I am Christian who believes marriage is between a man and a woman. I won't stop you for living your life, and marrying who you want, but don't tell me I have to believe in the same thing you do. I am a color of the rainbow too, and I deserve to have an opinion.
