Rihanna's 'Rated R' Album Cover Debut
You've probably seen
Rihanna's racy single cover, and now
PopEater is proud to exclusively premiere the cover for her impending album, 'Rated R.' The grainy black-and-white cover shows the R&B queen draped in hand jewelry and covering one eye.
The album, which is set to be released on Monday, Nov. 23, is Rihanna's first album since 2007's 'Good Girl Gone Bad.'
It is also Rihanna's first album since she was assaulted by boyfriend Chris Brown in February.
The 'Rated R' cover was shot by famed photographer Ellen von Unwerth, who says that "Rihanna was looking to create something a bit new for the look of the album."
Von Unwerth goes on to say that Rihanna is "so beautiful, sweet and tough at the same time -- and a pleasure to shoot," adding that she's "fantastic to work with -- very giving, very creative, very involved in every aspect of the shoot, and ready to push the boundaries."
The first single off of 'Rated R' is a slowed-down track titled 'Russian Roulette,' a dark tune in which Rihanna sings: "And you can see my heart beating / You can see it through my chest / And I'm terrified but I'm not leaving / Know that I must must pass this test / So just pull the trigger." Rihanna's album cover is good. A little racy and controversial, but this describes what the album is going to sound like with her edgy R&B/pop sound. I still think her Good Girl Gone Bad album cover is the best, but this ranks a strong second. Looks very Grace Jones-ish with the hairstyle. Surprisingly edgy and she even gives Lady Gaga's own edgy and radical image some stiff competition!

Rihanna must be coached by her new boyfriend Justin Timberlake. Justin might look like a little skinny punk but ALL hes about is selling "sex". He knows how many hard up people out there cant stop watching those (bogus) "steamy" videos or watching those "racy" pics. Who cares about the song as long as theres lots of flesh? Flesh is what sells records not some little dumb melody. And even Justin's lyrics are all about "sex"..Im bringing sexxy bacck..whip me Ill be your slave.....from Madonna to Timberlake to whomever..if you want to be REALLY big in the biz its all about the "sex". Rihanna is trying. Look for the "steamy" video which will basically be 10000 titillating shots of various pieces of flesh all edited together so it appears the singer is engaged in sex right there on the screen. And all the hard up sheep out there will love it ! If youre just mediocre then sell your flesh to the suckers!
