Teen Burglary Ring Rooted in Friendship

The world is learning more about the gang of suspects arrested on suspicion of burglarizing Lindsay Lohan and other Hollywood Hills celebs. Police say the group, dubbed the 'Burglar Bunch,' may have been involved with similar heists involving Audrina Patridge, Paris Hilton, Orlando Bloom and Rachel Bilson.

One of the suspects, 18-year-old Alexis Neirs, is the sister of Playboy model Tess Taylor and the subject of a reality show pilot for E!, called 'Home-Schooling With the Arlingtons.' Sources tell PEOPLE that Neirs was in the middle of filming the show when the raid occurred and cameras may have kept rolling all the way to jail.

Neirs was arrested on Thursday night along with her high school buddies Rachel Lee and Diana Tamayo (both 19) and 18-year-old Courtney Ames. A fifth suspect, Roy Lopez, Jr., 27, was also taken into custody. According to TMZ, Lopez is a bar bouncer and his connection to the 'Bunch' is unclear.

The suspects were taken into custody in five different mini-raids that included four locations in Southern California and one in Las Vegas, police said in a statement. All were booked for investigation of residential burglary. Bail was set at $50,000 for each.

During the raids, police recovered items that were reported stolen by "well known celebrities." They also confiscated three guns and narcotics at one of the locations.

Lee was the suspect arrested in Las Vegas and law enforcement officers tell TMZ they believe she is the group's leader. Sources say "two laptops, photographs of a partially nude woman, photographs of Lee's friends, more than two hundred $100 bills, a Korean passport and a vial of marijuana" were impounded in the raid.

The four teen girls are all friends from high school, and are believed to be in cahoots with their classmate Nick Prugo, also 18, who was arrested last month on suspicion of breaking into the homes of Lohan and Patridge. Police alleged Prugo stole $170,000 in designer jewelry and clothes from Lohan and Patridge, star of MTV's 'The Hills.'

Prugo was also arrested in February for possession of cocaine, TMZ reports. He plead guilty on that charge and agreed to enter an 18-month drug diversion program.

On Monday, Neirs effectively threw her friends under the bus in an interview with E! News. She said: "I've learned my lesson that I need to make some better friends and some better decisions as far as my friends go."

I think the radical comments on this post are ridiculous. Tie them to trees? Light them on fire? Honestly, should we use the old Catholic punishment too?

And to blame their parents is outrageous. I hardly think that their parents were rooting for this from the side lines.

They screwed up, they should be punished- in the same way that every other American is punished. Period. All radicalism and idiotology aside.

Wow, I cant beleive some of the posts for this article. The girls DO HAVE PROBLEMS, but they just might not even compare to the mentality of some of the people and their posts.

This is cute. This basically reenforces my strong dislike for rich kids. Even with a silver spoon in their mouth you can catch them going through your silverwear drawer to take even more from you. Albeit most celebrities are underworked and overpaid, but seriously are you really going to steal when you've already got the life?Get a job....oh wait....

These pampered losers are a result of Failed Parenting...These young idiots, not being able to "Make it" like Britney or some of the other "in" people, get taken in by the likes of the Roy Lopez dude, who introduces them to drugs, sex, and crime, and whereas he's interested in the $$$, the youngsters think it's such an exciting lifestyle. Nick Prugo and "Roy" need a OTK bare bottom paddling. Their butts should be dark red and purple. Maybe if they are punished like teenage brats they will grow-up.
