Michael Jackson Autopsy Photo to Be Leaked Soon?

The news isn't all good when it comes to Michael Jackson this week, as an autopsy photo of the late King of Pop is said to possibly leak soon.

Gerald Posner writes in The Daily Beast that he recently received a phone call from someone who allegedly has a photograph of Jackson on the autopsy table. Posner's source reports that the image is "not a cellphone picture," explaining that the "quality was far too good."

Two independent viewers described the photo as "shocking." It features only Jackson's head and shows his shaved skull and wide open eyes. His eyebrows are tattooed and skin is ashen in color. His lips are flat, wide and without lipstick. A scar on his left cheek is visible because concealing makeup had been cleaned from his face. Jackson is lying on his back on a metal autopsy table. The picture was taken at a 30-degree angle toward the left side of the corpse.

The Daily Beast tracked a high-resolution copy of the photo to a prominent Los Angeles restaurant owner who stored it on his BlackBerry. The restaurateur revealed the photo was given to him by a "high-ranking police friend." The man has displayed it to several television executives based in California. He refused to acknowledge whether he was trying to sell as well as a visit to confirm ownership of the image.

A British tabloid editor told Posner off-the-record that worldwide rights to the photo could easily surpass $1 million. However, an investigation of security breaches at the autopsy could make a sale difficult.

Michael Jackson's unexpected death in June at the age of 50 caused grief among fans and a flurry of speculation concerning its cause. Jackson's 'This Is It,' a concert film documenting his rehearsals for a concert series of the same name, is currently in theaters.

It's outrageous that the photo was ever leaked from official sources to start with. Someone should have to answer for such a breach. If I was his family, I'd be suing someone for doing it. It's outrageous. And anyone who utilizes such a photo should be prosecuted too for conspiracy.

Release the photos. The funeral director probaly did a better job than Jacksons surgeons.

Why wont they leave Michael alone? They have always published photos of him at his worst when he was alive. Now they want to further humiliate him in death. What is it about this man that makes the media do such terrible things? I don't know of any other celebrity that has been so mistreated as michael has been.

When it comes to splashing pictures of a mutilated corpse across the world wide web, I think we have to draw the line, morally speaking. He's got children, parents, and siblings who've been through quite enough. Whoever is leaking those photos has no heart.

To those whose morbid curiosity is driving them to take a peek at Michael Jackson's autopsy pictures, I say, if you must look, keep a moment of pity in your heart. Keep a spark of humanity in your mind. One day it will be you on the cold slab.

Mike I have to agree that we should give God the respect he deserves. I guess michael just had something special. I will always miss him.

MJ wanted to be in the spotlight. He had the chance to change this as an adult to ignore the media and public attention. In his death this is to be expected, yes in poor taste but expected. This is man whom changed his appearance to please the not himself but the public his fans. As long as he can be exploited he will be and this is the price of fame.
