Bob What the hell is wrong with you! Nobody said he was any better than your father. He has a famous son and for that it is news. Don't read it if you are disinterested. You should seek some help for your anger issue. Your father should have taught you better.

That's just plain wrong to talk about someone's deceased father like that. I am sorry about ANYONE, even you, who has lost a parent. And the parent doesn't have to "leave a mark." He was a parent, and had children that loved him. That's all he needs to be. Everyone has value. You don't even know what this man did or didn't do. This man made a headline because he was a famous person's father...that's all. Relax, dude.

I agree take a easy if you don't like the article title DON'T READ IT!! Geez don't take an Einstein to skip what you're not interested in.

Who IS he? He's Nicolas Cage's father. Why is everyone so angry about this? I don't get it. Relax and let the man rest in peace. They posted this story because he's the father of a celebrity. I personally like Nicolas Cage's acting, and his movies. I feel bad for him. They don't know of your family, since you're not famous, or they'd post about you, too. Hellooooo.....

Relax Bob. Sorry about your father. This father that passed away was a father of a famous person. Again, relax!!

Thank you Cyndi! You said it right, my father died of a heart attack when he was 75 like Nick's father,
I feel sad for him, too. I am not famous like Nick Cage, the reason this is news is becouse of the son.
Bob and Beesit - shame on you! I am sure your fathers would be very dissapointed with your bad manners.

Is your pain supposed to be more than his for the same loss ? You really seem to be upset over something.I could be beligerant towards you but would rather address you rationally. Perhaps you are still in mourning for your father but anyones loss like this is tragic. I am truly sorry for your loss. I wish i could have cared about my father the way you care about yours. Best wishes for the future.

I must have missed something!! Who's Hailey & what's that got to do with Nic or August Cage??????

Was there some subliminal message between the lines referring to the death of Nicks' dad? Who the hell is Hailey?
Nick, very sorry to hear about your father. May he rest in peace. God Bless You and Your Family.

You need to see either a priest or an exorcist.

My dad died in 1993. He was famous in his line of work. He accomplished some amazing things for the governments of the United States, Canada, Algeria, Morocco and Iran, all back in the 1950's and 1960's. Things most of you would have never heard of or even understood. He funded a so-called Chair in Geology for a well known University before he died. He did many amazing things. He was indeed famous. But when a father dies, he is like all other fathers who die - a father to living children who will miss him in one way or another, to one degree or another. Fathers affect children forever, no matter how old the children live to be, no matter what lifestyle the father lived, no matter what line of work he was in.

It still astonishes me how some people are so callously cruel.
Death is final. No amount of money eases the loss of a loved on, or takes away the fear or the blunt reality of the fact that you, yourself, WILL die as well on day.
Even if people do have estranged relationships with someone they lose to death, they will still many extreme emotions to cope with because of that loss.
It's not like this guy lived off of his son's fame. This man apparently spent his life EDUCATING students at a State college. Also, as others mentioned, it's only being mentioned as "news", because his son IS famous. (no offense intended.)
You should have couth enough not to slander the dead, and respect the pain those left behind are feeling at this tragic time in their lives. Nick apparently is having a tough year. My prayers are with him and his family.

LIFE is a continuous process ... that what we see as death is merely the elevation to the next level. The passing of ones parent or any loved one is a sad occasion ... but BELIEVE THIS and find comfort in its knowledge: The ONLY thing that has died was the body. Our loved ones will remain alive and well in the hearts and memories of all who knew him/her. Sincere condolences on your loss
