This is rediculous. I suppose she should make a big stink when a fan comes around, and tell him to take his shirt off, or go away. She has shown class all along, even when Kayne West did his stupid move. But then again, we always like to pull everyone down to our level. Get a life and GET OVER IT!

Yes! that is exactly what you do when someone is offensive. You either tell them or walk away. You certainly don't pose for a picture with the idiot. Here's how it works: When someone does something like wear a Swastika (a symbol of hate and Murder) Decent, thinking people speak up.
You are sooooo right . These AOL writers need to get a life!! This is a classy kid!! The other guy was the insensitive one!!! AOL is losing it!!!
If I'm a celebrity at a party and a fan comes up with me with a swastika on his shirt, the first thing I'm going to ask is, "What are you wearing?" And he may have an explanation but I will not take a picture with him or at least with the shirt showing. I'll sign an autograph but there will be no picture with me with a swastika in it.
And yes Kayne West is a jerk. But if Kayne West was standing with a fan with a symbol synonymous with hate and genocide (no matter how long ago it comes from), it would add the stock that he's a jerk. This adds the stock that she had poor judgment in posing in a picture with a man wearing a swastika shirt.
Boy, the way you be spellin is what is RIDICULOUS. Get off this web site and do youR homework fo i WHIP YO ASS AGIN.
as a very public figure, she should know better. I love her music and I think she's a good role model but this isn't some stupid celebrity caught without underwear on "scandal". A swastika is something that is very personal to a whole race of people. And now we wear it like its just another symbol. Why would anyone wear that? My great grandfather was in a concentration camp and anytime he sees a swastika, he freaks. with good reason. She needs to realize what that means to other people and say no thanks, I'll take a photo without the shirt.

maryheartorly, I find it interesting that you called Jewish people their own race. Are you aware that's how Germans referred to Jewish people during the Holocaust? Especially since someone is in your family, shouldn't you realize that Judaism is a religion, not a race like the members of the NSDAP (Nazis) believed...?
I understand that the swastka was used by the Nazis, but before the Nazis were ever around, the swastika has been a sacred Hindu symbol. It was a Hindu symbol first, and so the guy may be wearing it for religious reasons or something. I also realize that not many people know this, or think to look this up, but before you go and criticize the guy, you may want to make sure he isn't wearing it in representation of Hinduism.
this reply is not only to you. dont take it personally. symbols are images the are used for various reasons and mean different things to diferent people. duh! you say. indeed. the swastika is one of the oldest symbols known to man. it pre-dates the egyptian ankh and the star of david and the cross. there is nothing inheretly evil about a swastika. as a matter of fact, it is still seen in nearly all ajinist homes and most hindi homes around the world. it was commonly used in greek, roman, celtic, indian, chinese and korean art. hmmm, none of those are known for anti-semitism. until the third reich took it over as its own, there was NEVER a negative connotation attached to the swastika. it is a symbol of good luck, happiness and blessing. the nazis perverted its meaning, and we continue to allow them to do so. but you know what? the cross was a symbol of torture and pain, yet christians have turned the negative connotations of that symbol of torture into one of hope. how dare we do the opposite! how about we reclaim the good from those who dare pervert it. take it back from the skinheads and racists and neo-nazis. dont allow them to turn into evil that which was and still is a symbol of good.
The swastika is a sybol with over 5,000 years of history. Personally I don't let one event from 70 years ago define what a swastika means. Christians slaughtered hundreds of thousands, if not millions of people during the Crusades, the conquests of pagan England, etc, so in that case, the Christian Cross should be treated as a symbol of evil as well. (sarcasm) You can find evil in any symbol, if you choose to look for it. Hell, we should BAN GM from making super sport cars, who wants to see SS emblazoned on a car? Blame the acts of evil people, not the symbol they tried corrupting.
This isn't a scandle, she is a young girl who I am certain did not know what it was. It looks like a cursive letter X to me, I have never heard of that word and would not know what it was myself. We cannot know what everything is and she isn't in the political field.
Just another example of what is wrong with the world. Who really GAF about this and who are the fks who are making something out of it?
I am deeply, deeply offended by Pelosis face, image, cheesy fking grin but you don't see me complaining.

Hey pastarasta, you are aware that the swastika dates back to about 5,000 BC, right? It's an Indian, Buddhist, Native American, early CHRISTIAN, Chinese, Greek, and current Finnish symbol. You may wanna do your research before you just ignorantly pass it off as a just a Nazi symbol. Did you know religious groups are free to display swastikas in Germany?
Well said Bill!!!!
I'm also highly offended my Pelosi! With her elite liberalism paychecks she should be able to afford better botox and face lifts.....not to mention she lost her brain entirely during one of her surgeries.
Back on point though, Taylor Swift is a good girl and I could care less about the swatiska on a t-shirt. I'm more worried about B.O.
Of course she's going to glady pose with a "racist". She wants to show Kanye what she thinks of him deep down. Duh

HAHAHAHAHA. best comment ever. :]
A swastika is an ancient symbol which pre-dates Nazism -- however one cannot get away from the ugly memories which it references for many. If Taylor Swift truly does not know the significance of the symbol on that guys shirt, she needs to put down the writing pen & get herself into a history class as she risks looking callous at best & deeply uneducated at worst. Role models should have minimal education in my opinion -- otherwise young people are following the blind -- not ideal.

Yes, the swastika does date back before the Nazis, but over the years, terms, and their meanings, DO change. Here's a few examples of words that have changed their meaning over the years. The word diva, and the word bourgeois have changed, just to name a few.
Also, How on earth can you believe Taylor Swift doesn't know what the swastika means? That's like saying no one knows about the holocaust! Duh, Hello, they teach these things in grammar school! Stop trying to get her off the hook!
Ok first of all, people need to stop assuming that this whole Swastika picture represents Taylor's ideals or beliefs in any way. Just because she took a picture with a fan who happened to be wearing this does not mean that she herself supports the symbol or the meaning behind it. She was simply being a polite individual by agreeing to take the picture in the first place. Blame, however (since people are so eager to point the finger), should be placed towards the gentleman wearing said shirt since he obviously has no moral problems wearing the symbol.
